The Hertz MLK700-3 is a 3-inch two-way component speaker system designed to cover the midrange and high-frequency portion of an advanced car-audio installation. It combines ML 700.3 extended midrange drivers, ML 280.3 tweeters, and dedicated MLCX 2 TM.3 passive crossover networks. This configuration is intended for systems that need focused mid-high reproduction while using separate larger drivers for bass and mid-bass duties.

This system is suited to enthusiasts building a multi-amplified front stage rather than replacing a conventional full-range door speaker. Hertz specifies it for use with ML 1650.3 or ML 1800.3 Legend woofers in an actively filtered configuration. Its Mid-Notch selector offers 0, -4, and -6 dB settings, while the tweeter level can be selected at +2, 0, or -2 dB. The ML 700.3 midrange uses a three-spoke aluminum-alloy basket with built-in venting, a CNC-machined diamond-cut basket edge, and a supplied die-cast aluminum grille. Its cone is made from pressed pulp reinforced with cotton fibres, while the tweeter uses a CNC-machined aluminum frame and rear chamber with a die-cast aluminum faceplate. The crossover network uses 160V ultra-low-DF polyester bi-metallized film capacitors, air-wound copper inductors, and wirewound resistors.
