The Rockford Fosgate T1650-S is a 6.5-inch, 2-way component speaker system designed for a front-stage car audio upgrade. Unlike a coaxial speaker, it separates the woofer and tweeter so each driver can be mounted where it performs most effectively. This helps replace limited factory sound with clearer detail and more controlled midrange reproduction.

Their 47 Hz to 20 kHz frequency-response rating covers the midbass and midrange range needed for door-speaker installations. A treated fabric-dome tweeter handles high frequencies with a separate mounting location.

Rockford Fosgate incorporates VAST technology to increase effective cone area and uses a FlexFit 2 basket intended to support mounting adjustments. The system also uses external asymmetric crossovers with 18 dB-per-octave high-pass and 12 dB-per-octave low-pass sections. Tweeter-level, tweeter-axis, and bi-amp settings provide setup flexibility when placement varies by vehicle.

Design & Installation

Install each woofer in a location that accepts its 5.51-inch mounting diameter and 2.52-inch mounting depth, allowing additional clearance for window mechanisms and door structure. Mount the tweeters using the supplied flush, surface, or angle-mount hardware as appropriate, then wire each woofer and tweeter through its included passive crossover. Use the crossover's selectable tweeter-level, axis, and bi-amp provisions only according to the system wiring plan and installation manual.
