Mogami GOLD STAGE-30 30 Ft XLR Microphone Cable $144.95
Bundle total: $534.94

The Mackie THUMP212 is a self-powered 12-inch loudspeaker built for portable sound reinforcement, DJ playback, live performance, presentations, and rehearsal spaces. Its onboard amplification and integrated two-channel mixer reduce the need for separate power amplifiers in straightforward setups. This makes it a practical choice for users who need a compact PA speaker that can accept microphones, mixers, instruments, or playback devices.

A 12-inch low-frequency driver and 1-inch polymer compression driver cover the main vocal and music range in a two-way configuration. The system is rated for 1400 watts peak power and reaches up to 128 dB peak SPL. Its specified frequency range extends from 47 Hz to 23 kHz at -10 dB, supporting clear speech and full-range playback in a portable cabinet.

The THUMP212 includes a 1400-watt peak Class-D amplifier section with separate 1200-watt peak low-frequency and 200-watt peak high-frequency amplification. A 2.1 kHz electronic crossover directs frequencies to the appropriate driver. Built-in limiting, thermal protection, and overexcursion protection help manage demanding operating conditions.

For events where microphones and background music share the same system, Music Ducking automatically lowers Channel 2 when a microphone signal is present on Channel 1. The onboard multi-band Feedback Eliminator can automatically apply up to six notch filters to help control feedback on Channel 1. These tools are useful for announcements, karaoke, small performances, and presentations without a dedicated sound engineer.

Connection options include two XLR/1/4-inch combo inputs, a stereo 1/8-inch input on Channel 2, and a balanced XLR thru output for sending the mixed signal to another powered loudspeaker. The molded cabinet can be used upright on a floor or pole-mounted through its bottom socket. It can also be placed horizontally at its 40-degree monitor angle for stage-monitor use.

Key Features

  • 1400W Peak Amplification: Integrated Class-D power eliminates the need for an external amplifier.
  • 12-Inch Woofer: Handles low and midrange content for full-range PA playback.
  • 1-Inch Compression Driver: Reproduces high frequencies for vocal and music detail.
  • Music Ducking: Lowers Channel 2 automatically during Channel 1 microphone use.
  • Feedback Eliminator: Uses up to six automatic notch filters on Channel 1.
  • Flexible I/O: Supports combo, stereo 1/8-inch, and balanced XLR connections.

Design & Installation

The THUMP212 uses a molded enclosure designed for portable PA applications. It measures 24.4 inches high, 14.0 inches wide, and 14.0 inches deep, with a weight of 27.6 pounds. Its cabinet includes a bottom pole-mount socket and a wedge shape that positions the speaker at a 40-degree angle when used as a floor monitor.

Connect microphones or line-level equipment to the XLR/1/4-inch combo inputs, and connect a phone or media player to the stereo 1/8-inch Channel 2 input when needed. Use the balanced XLR thru output to daisy-chain the mixed signal to additional powered speakers. For pole mounting, use a stable stand or speaker pole rated to support the loudspeaker's weight; the THUMP212 is not designed for suspension or rigging.
