The Mackie DRM315 is a 15-inch, 3-way powered professional loudspeaker designed for sound reinforcement where clear vocals, strong output, and flexible system control are important. Its integrated amplification and DSP reduce the need for external amplifiers and speaker processing. It is suited to mobile DJs, bands, venues, houses of worship, production providers, and installed PA systems.

A dedicated 15-inch low-frequency driver, 6.5-inch midrange driver, and 1.4-inch titanium compression driver divide the workload across three frequency bands. This configuration is designed to provide focused vocal and instrument detail while retaining low-frequency extension. The rotatable horn supports 90-degree horizontal by 60-degree vertical coverage in different installation orientations.

The DRM315 uses a 2300-watt peak Class-D amplification system, with 1920 watts peak assigned to the low-frequency amplifier and 380 watts peak assigned to the high-frequency amplifier section. Its frequency range extends from 35 Hz to 20 kHz at -10 dB, with a maximum peak SPL rating of 137 dB. Built-in limiting and thermal protection help safeguard the system during demanding use.

Advanced Impulse DSP uses FIR filtering, acoustic correction, and time alignment to manage the interaction of the drivers and horn. The rear-panel DRM Control Dashboard provides a full-color TFT display and a single rotary encoder for access to levels, voicing, EQ, delay, and system settings. Four voicing modes help tailor the speaker for Live, Club, Speech, or Monitor applications.

For larger systems, the DRM315 can be used on the floor, pole-mounted from its built-in bottom socket, or flown using its integrated M10 mounting points with appropriate hardware. Dual combo mic/line inputs, a stereo 1/8-inch auxiliary input, direct outputs, and a mix output support straightforward connections and daisy-chaining. When paired with a Mackie DRM18S subwoofer, the dedicated DRM Sub high-pass setting applies a 90 Hz crossover point.

Key Features

  • 3-Way Driver System: Separates low, mid, and high frequencies for detailed full-range reinforcement.
  • 2300W Peak Class-D Amplification: Provides built-in power without requiring an external amplifier rack.
  • Advanced Impulse DSP: Uses FIR filtering and time alignment for controlled driver integration.
  • DRM Control Dashboard: Full-color display and rotary control simplify onboard setup adjustments.
  • Flexible Input Section: Supports microphones, line sources, instruments, and stereo 1/8-inch playback sources.
  • System Expansion Outputs: Direct and mix XLR outputs support convenient loudspeaker daisy-chaining.

Design & Installation

The DRM315 uses a vertical trapezoidal plywood enclosure with a black Polyurea finish, internal bracing, and a black powder-coated 16-18 gauge perforated steel grille. Handles on each side help with transport and placement. The cabinet measures 36.5 inches high, 18.8 inches wide, and 19.0 inches deep, and weighs 68.0 pounds.

Connect microphones or line-level sources to either rear combo input, or connect a stereo playback source through the 1/8-inch auxiliary input. Use the Direct Out connections to pass individual channel signals onward, or use Mix Out to send all input signals with the auxiliary input mono-summed. For pole mounting or flown installation, use equipment rated for the loudspeaker's weight and follow the manufacturer's rigging guidance; never suspend the cabinet by its handles.
