The KRK RP5G4-NA ROKIT 5 G4 is a self-powered 5-inch near-field studio monitor built for accurate playback in compact production, editing, and listening spaces. Its active bi-amplified design eliminates the need for an external speaker amplifier. Use a matched pair for stereo monitoring from an audio interface, monitor controller, mixer, computer, or compatible music source.

This monitor is intended for producers, musicians, podcasters, video editors, and home-studio users who need a focused reference speaker at close listening distances. The 5-inch format suits desk-based and small-room setups where larger monitors may be impractical. A front-firing port helps make placement more flexible than a rear-ported design.

The RP5G4 combines a 5.25-inch Kevlar woofer with a 1-inch Kevlar tweeter in a two-way cabinet. Its specified frequency response extends from 43 Hz to 40 kHz, while the built-in 55-watt Class D amplification is divided between the low- and high-frequency drivers. A brickwall limiter is included to help protect the system at high levels.

DSP-driven room tuning is a central part of the ROKIT G4 design. The rear LCD provides visual feedback for volume and EQ settings, with 25 available EQ voicings for adapting the monitor to room placement and acoustics. The monitor also works with the KRK Audio Tools app for setup assistance.

Each RP5G4-NA is sold as one powered monitor, so a conventional stereo setup requires two units. Its balanced XLR/1/4-inch combo input connects directly to an interface, mixing board, or monitor controller. For systems needing deeper bass extension, it can be paired with an appropriately integrated powered subwoofer.

Design & Installation

The RP5G4-NA uses a low-resonance enclosure with a front-firing port, optimized high-frequency waveguide, and integrated EVA foam cushion on its base. Its 5.25-inch Kevlar woofer uses a rubber surround, while the 1-inch tweeter also uses Kevlar. The black cabinet measures 11.22 inches high, 7.48 inches wide, and 9.49 inches deep.

For stereo use, install one monitor for each channel and connect each unit to a line-level output using balanced XLR or 1/4-inch TRS cables when available. Position the monitors roughly 3 to 5 feet apart, aimed toward the listening position, with the acoustic axis at ear level. Begin with both EQ sections set to Flat and make room-tuning adjustments only after placement is established.
