The PreSonus Eris 3.5BT is a compact pair of powered media reference monitors designed for desktop listening, home recording, content creation, gaming, and everyday music playback. One speaker contains the amplification and controls, while the included speaker wire connects it to the passive companion speaker. This self-powered design avoids the need for a separate stereo receiver or external amplifier.

Each monitor uses a 3.5-inch woven-composite low-frequency driver and a 1-inch ultra-low-mass silk-dome tweeter. The two-way design is intended to provide a balanced presentation across the 80 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range. With a peak SPL rating of 98 dB at 1 meter, the pair is well suited to close-range desktop and near-field use.

Built-in Class AB amplification supplies 25 watts per side, for 50 watts total system power. The speakers use a 2.8 kHz crossover to divide low- and high-frequency duties between the woofer and tweeter. High- and low-frequency Acoustic Tuning controls allow practical adjustments for desk placement, room acoustics, and personal listening preference.

The Eris 3.5BT supports stereo Bluetooth 5.0 audio for convenient wireless playback from compatible devices. For wired sources, the active speaker provides balanced 1/4-inch TRS inputs, unbalanced RCA inputs, and a front-panel 1/8-inch stereo auxiliary input. A front-panel headphone output mutes the speakers when headphones are connected, making it easy to switch to private listening.

Design & Installation

The Eris 3.5BT uses vinyl-laminated medium-density fiberboard cabinets in a white finish. Its two-way active design combines woven-composite woofers with silk-dome tweeters, while the active speaker houses the amplifier, input connections, front volume control, headphone jack, and Bluetooth status indicator. The pair measures 8.27 inches high, 5.53 inches wide, and 6.46 inches deep per speaker.

Place the active speaker on the left side of the listening position when using standard left/right input routing, and connect the included bare-wire speaker cable from the active speaker to the passive speaker with positive and negative terminals matched. Use balanced 1/4-inch TRS cables when connecting compatible audio interfaces or mixers; RCA, front 1/8-inch stereo, and Bluetooth are available for other line-level sources. The included foam feet can be fitted to the bottoms of both speakers, and power saver mode engages after more than 40 minutes without audio.
