The Kenwood KMR-D382BT is a single-DIN CD receiver designed for marine, motorsports, and conventional vehicle audio systems. It combines AM/FM radio, CD playback, Bluetooth streaming, front USB, and front auxiliary input in one compact in-dash unit. Its conformal-coated circuit boards add moisture resistance for installations exposed to changing weather and humid environments.

This receiver suits boat owners, ATV and UTV riders, and drivers who need physical source controls alongside modern phone connectivity. Bluetooth supports hands-free calling and wireless audio streaming, while Dual Phone Connection lets users switch between two connected phones. Kenwood Music Mix also supports switching among up to five paired Bluetooth audio devices.

The built-in four-channel amplifier is rated at 22 watts RMS per channel at less than 1% THD, with a 50-watt maximum rating per channel. A 13-band equalizer, Digital Time Alignment, and Drive EQ provide useful tools for tailoring output to speaker placement and listening conditions. FLAC playback through USB gives users an option for higher-resolution stored music files.

The KMR-D382BT has a 255-segment, 1.5-line text display with variable-color illumination for integration with different dash lighting. Dedicated Bluetooth access controls simplify calls and Bluetooth-audio selection from the faceplate. The Kenwood Remote app can control many basic receiver functions from a paired iPhone or Android phone.

For system expansion, the receiver provides three 4-volt preouts for connecting external amplification or a powered subwoofer. It is SiriusXM-ready when used with a separately purchased compatible SiriusXM Vehicle Tuner and subscription. Optional Kenwood marine wired remote-control support can add source and playback control at another location on a boat.

Its internal circuit boards use a conformal coating intended to improve moisture resistance and reduce corrosion risk. This is a marine-oriented receiver, but the electronics should still be mounted in a protected location or suitable enclosure rather than exposed directly to water.

The chassis installs in a standard single-DIN opening and measures 182 mm wide by 53 mm high by 155.5 mm deep. A trim plate and mounting sleeve are included, and the installation documentation also lists a wiring harness and extraction keys. Use 4- to 8-ohm speakers with the internal amplifier, or connect external amplification through the 4-volt preouts; professional wiring and mounting are recommended for marine or vehicle installations.
