The JVC KW-Z1001W is a single-DIN digital media receiver built around a large 10.1-inch HD touchscreen. It brings current smartphone navigation, calling, music, and radio features to vehicles that have limited dash opening space. Its floating-monitor format is designed for drivers seeking a large display without converting the vehicle to a conventional double-DIN receiver.

Wireless and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide access to compatible phone apps through the receiver's screen and controls. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB-C, HDMI input, and smartphone mirroring add connection options for daily driving and entertainment use. The unit also supports two-phone full-time Bluetooth connection for compatible phones.

For audio upgrades, the KW-Z1001W includes a 13-band graphic EQ, time alignment, high- and low-pass filters, and 3-way crossover capability. Its 4-volt front, rear, and subwoofer preouts provide a clean connection point for external amplifiers and subwoofers. High-resolution audio playback and JVC K2 processing support detailed playback from compatible USB media.

The 1280 x 720 capacitive display uses optical bonding to reduce internal reflections and maintain visibility. Its adjustable mounting system permits changes to monitor height, tilt, depth, and left-right position, helping an installer accommodate many dashboard layouts. Gesture controls, split-screen operation, live wallpaper, and a customizable home screen help organize commonly used functions.

The receiver can serve as the control center for a more complete vehicle-integration system. It supports up to four camera inputs, including compatible HD front and rear camera input, and is iDatalink Maestro-ready for supported vehicles with the required module. Built-in HD Radio, SiriusXM readiness, and SiriusXM 360L readiness expand the available listening options.

Variable key illumination, dimming, gesture control, and a detachable rear USB-C extension cable support practical everyday use.

Vehicle-specific mounting hardware, a wiring harness adapter, antenna adapter, and steering-wheel-control interface may be needed depending on the vehicle. Check monitor clearance carefully around vents, hazard switches, climate controls, and dash trim before installation, because the screen extends beyond the chassis opening. For factory-feature retention, use a compatible iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 module and vehicle-specific harness where supported.
