A poplar Concert Bass body keeps the instrument centered on comfortable everyday playing, while the 34-inch scale supports familiar long-scale bass string tension and feel. The bolt-on maple neck uses graphite reinforcement and a scarf joint for a stable playing platform. White neck and headstock binding add visual definition around the amaranth fingerboard.

Two covered Jackson high-output humbucking pickups provide the bass with an HH pickup configuration and a strong, full-range foundation. A master volume control, blend control and active three-band EQ let the player adjust bass, middle and treble response from the instrument. This setup makes it practical to refine the bass sound before it reaches an amp, interface or pedal chain.

The bound amaranth fingerboard uses a 12-to-16-inch compound radius that becomes flatter toward the upper frets. Its 24 jumbo frets provide two full octaves per string, while pearloid sharkfin inlays make positions easy to identify. Jackson equips the JS3 with a HiMass bridge and sealed die-cast tuning machines for stable setup hardware. Factory nickel-plated steel strings in .045-.105 gauges provide a standard four-string starting point. Design & Installation

The JS3 combines a poplar Concert Bass body with a satin maple neck, bound amaranth fingerboard and black hardware. It has a Satin Black body finish, black pickup covers, dome-style control knobs and pearloid sharkfin position inlays. The pointed 4-in-line headstock, white headstock binding and white neck binding complete the instrument's Jackson styling.

As an electric bass, the JS3 connects to a bass amplifier, pedalboard or recording interface using a standard instrument cable. Use the volume and blend controls to set pickup balance, then use the active bass, middle and treble EQ to shape the signal for the rest of the rig.
