The PreSonus Eris 3.5BT is a compact pair of powered 3.5-inch media reference monitors designed for desktop listening, home recording, editing, gaming, and everyday music playback. One cabinet is active and contains the amplification and primary connections, while the second cabinet is powered from it. This arrangement provides a practical monitor system for users who want a small-footprint alternative to conventional computer speakers.

Its 3.5-inch woven glass-fiber composite low-frequency drivers and 1-inch silk-dome tweeters are configured in a two-way active design. The system is specified for an 80 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and up to 98 dB peak SPL at one meter. This makes it suited to nearfield listening, where the speakers are placed close to the listener on a desk or workstation.

Class AB amplification supplies 50 watts total, with 25 watts assigned to the low-frequency amplifier and 25 watts assigned to the high-frequency amplifier. A 2.8 kHz crossover divides the signal between the woofer and tweeter. The result is a compact powered pair intended to deliver controlled, detailed playback without requiring a separate stereo amplifier.

Bluetooth 5.0 provides a convenient wireless input for compatible phones, tablets, and computers, while wired connections support line-level sources. Rear-panel balanced 1/4-inch TRS and unbalanced RCA inputs accommodate common audio interfaces, mixers, computers, and consumer devices. A front-panel 1/8-inch stereo input offers a quick connection point for a portable source.

The Eris 3.5BT can be adjusted for its placement using continuously variable high- and low-frequency Acoustic Tuning controls. Its front-panel headphone output mutes the speakers when headphones are connected, supporting private listening without changing the main setup. For a desktop, content-creation, or compact entertainment system, the included speaker wire and audio cables help provide a straightforward starting point.

Design & Installation

The Eris 3.5BT uses vinyl-laminated medium-density fiberboard cabinets and a black finish. Each pair includes one active speaker and one passive speaker, with the active cabinet housing the amplifier, input section, volume control, Bluetooth functions, and tuning controls. The woofer uses a woven glass-fiber composite cone, while the tweeter uses a silk dome.

Place the speakers at desk or ear level for nearfield use, with the active speaker typically positioned on the left for normal stereo orientation. Connect the included bare-wire speaker cable between the active and passive cabinets, matching positive and negative terminals, then connect the active speaker to AC power. Use Bluetooth or a single preferred line-level source, and use the high- and low-frequency controls to tailor playback to the room and speaker position.
