The Pioneer AVH-241EX is a double-DIN multimedia receiver for drivers who want touchscreen control, CD/DVD playback, Bluetooth calling, and conventional AM/FM radio in one dashboard unit. The AVH-241EX uses a built-in MOSFET amplifier rated at 14 watts RMS x 4 channels under CTA-2006 testing, with 50 watts x 4 maximum output. Its 13-band graphic equalizer, high-pass and low-pass filters, subwoofer control, bass boost, and built-in DSP provide useful tools for tailoring sound to factory or upgraded speakers. Five channels of 2-volt RCA preamp outputs also support adding external amplification.

For media playback, the receiver handles CDs, DVDs, USB audio, and a broad selection of supported compressed audio and video files. USB audio compatibility includes MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, and FLAC files, including FLAC files up to 192 kHz/24-bit. The built-in DVD drive supports common CD, DVD, Video CD, and recordable disc formats for vehicles where physical media remains important.

A dedicated rear camera input allows the AVH-241EX to display a compatible backup camera when reversing, making it suitable for a safety-focused system upgrade. WebLink 2.0 and Pioneer Vozsis compatibility add app-based smartphone functionality, including Amazon Alexa capability through the applicable paired apps. Design & Installation

The AVH-241EX uses a fixed-face double-DIN chassis with a 6.2-inch, 16:9 TFT active-matrix LCD display and LED backlight. Its screen resolution is 800 x 480 pixels, and the resistive touch panel is designed for direct touch operation. Brightness control, automatic or manual dimming, display-off mode, and a fixed blue illumination color support integration into a wide range of interiors.

Verify dash opening, chassis depth, and vehicle-specific wiring requirements before installation; the chassis measures 7 x 3-7/8 x 6-3/8 inches. A vehicle-specific dash kit, wiring harness, antenna adapter, steering-wheel-control adapter, and backup camera may be needed depending on the vehicle and desired functions. Remove the two transport screws before installation so the DVD mechanism can operate, connect the included microphone in a suitable position, and leave space behind the unit for ventilation.
