Kenwood DNR476S 6.8" Double-DIN Navigation Receiver

The Kenwood DNR476S is a double-DIN digital multimedia receiver with built-in Garmin GPS navigation, a 6.8-inch touchscreen, and smartphone integration. It replaces a factory radio with a centralized interface for navigation, calls, music, compatible cameras, and vehicle audio controls. It is designed for drivers who want dedicated onboard navigation alongside Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability.

Its built-in four-channel amplifier provides 22 watts RMS per channel, while three 4-volt preamp outputs support expansion with external amplifiers. A 13-band graphic equalizer, digital time alignment, and adjustable high- and low-pass crossovers help tailor the system to the vehicle and speaker setup. High-resolution WAV and FLAC playback support makes it a practical foundation for a sound-focused upgrade.

Garmin navigation gives the DNR476S a standalone route-guidance option that does not rely solely on a phone projection interface. Lane Assist helps guide drivers toward the appropriate lane for upcoming turns and exits. The receiver also supports INRIX traffic and weather functions when used with the required compatible smartphone app and connection.

The clear resistive touchscreen uses an LED-backlit TN LCD panel with an 800 x 480 RGB display resolution. Its customizable multi-widget home screen can present useful information such as navigation prompts, clock, weather, album art, and more. Built-in Bluetooth supports hands-free calling, wireless audio streaming, music browsing, and switching between two connected phones.

For a more complete vehicle upgrade, the DNR476S offers three camera inputs, adjustable parking guidelines, SiriusXM readiness, iDatalink Maestro RR compatibility, and Kenwood DRV-N520 dash camera compatibility. The three 4-volt preouts allow the receiver to feed external amplifiers for upgraded speakers and subwoofers. As a digital multimedia receiver, it does not play CDs or DVDs.

Design & Installation

The DNR476S uses a fixed double-DIN chassis with a 6.75-inch diagonal, LED-backlit TN LCD touchscreen. Its clear resistive touch panel is designed to reduce glare while providing direct on-screen control. Physical controls and a configurable multi-widget display complement the touchscreen interface.

Installation requires a compatible double-DIN dash opening, vehicle-specific mounting hardware as needed, and proper power, speaker, antenna, and parking-brake connections. A wiring harness and installation accessories are included, but vehicle-specific interface modules, cameras, SiriusXM tuner hardware, external amplifiers, and iDatalink Maestro components are optional. Use the rear USB connection for compatible media devices and smartphone integration, and have a qualified installer confirm vehicle and steering-wheel-control compatibility.
