JVC KW-V660BT 6.8" Double DIN DVD Receiver with CarPlay

The JVC KW-V660BT is a double-DIN multimedia receiver designed to modernize a vehicle with touchscreen control, smartphone integration, and disc playback. Its 6.8-inch capacitive touchscreen brings navigation, calls, music, and compatible apps into a dashboard-friendly format. It is a practical upgrade for drivers replacing an older factory radio while retaining access to AM/FM radio, CDs, and DVDs.

Wired Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto let compatible smartphones supply familiar navigation, communication, and music functions through the receiver's display. Bluetooth adds hands-free calling and wireless audio streaming for everyday convenience. Android users can also use USB mirroring with the required Mirroring OA for JVC app.

The built-in amplifier provides 21 watts x 4 full-bandwidth power at less than 1% THD, suitable for powering compatible 4- to 8-ohm vehicle speakers. A 13-band graphic equalizer, bass boost, loudness, crossover controls, and digital time alignment help tailor the sound to the vehicle and seating position. Front, rear, and subwoofer preouts support a future amplifier or powered-subwoofer upgrade.

For media playback, the KW-V660BT handles CDs, DVDs, USB music files, and a broad range of USB video formats. USB playback supports MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, FLAC, and Vorbis audio, including WAV and FLAC files up to 24-bit/192 kHz. The rear USB port also supplies up to 1.5 amps for compatible-device charging.

The receiver is ready to serve as the central source in a broader car audio and video system. It includes a rear camera input, rear mini-jack A/V input, RCA video output, and SiriusXM readiness with an optional tuner. Its rear-mounted connections help keep the dashboard clean when paired with the vehicle-specific mounting hardware, wiring harness, and interface accessories required for the vehicle.

Design & Installation

The KW-V660BT uses a standard double-DIN in-dash form factor with a 6.8-inch wide VGA capacitive touchscreen and blue key illumination. Its display uses a transparent TN LCD panel, TFT active-matrix drive system, RGB striped pixel arrangement, and LED backlighting. A trim plate and mounting sleeve are included for conventional in-dash installation methods.

Confirm dashboard fitment and use the correct vehicle-specific dash kit, wiring harness, and antenna adapter before installation. The supplied wired microphone should be mounted toward the driver, while the rear USB lead, camera input, and A/V connections should be routed before the unit is secured. Connect the parking-brake detection wire as directed; the installation manual specifies this connection for safety, and it is required for access to certain video and setup functions.
