The Kenwood DMX5710S is a Double DIN digital multimedia receiver designed to replace a factory radio with a modern 6.8-inch touchscreen interface. It brings smartphone navigation, calling, music, USB media playback, AM/FM radio, and Bluetooth into one dashboard component. It is a practical fit for drivers who want current phone integration without adding a separate display.

Wireless and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide access to compatible phone apps through the receiver screen. The capacitive touch panel supports swipe-based control, while the WSVGA display uses a 1024 x 600 resolution for clear on-screen menus and compatible media. Built-in Bluetooth adds hands-free calling and wireless audio streaming.

For sound tuning, the DMX5710S includes a 13-band graphic equalizer, digital time alignment, high-pass and low-pass filtering, and a dedicated subwoofer output. Its built-in amplifier is rated at 22 watts x 4 full-bandwidth power at less than 1% THD, with 50 watts x 4 maximum power. These controls make it suitable for retaining factory speakers or serving as the source unit in a system with external amplification.

The receiver supports wireless smartphone mirroring through the MirrorAPP+ app on selected compatible phones. It is also iDatalink Maestro Ready, allowing compatible vehicles to retain selected factory functions when used with a separately sold Maestro RR or RR2 interface. A rear-view camera input with adjustable parking guidelines can support a compatible backup camera.

A short 85.7 mm chassis depth helps when working in dashboards with limited space behind the radio opening. Two 2.5-volt preouts and a subwoofer output provide expansion options for aftermarket amplifiers. SiriusXM capability is available with a separately sold compatible tuner, while the USB port supports media playback and charging up to 2.1A.

Design & Installation

The DMX5710S combines a clear-glass capacitive touch panel with a TN LCD, TFT active-matrix drive system, RGB-striped pixel arrangement, and LED backlighting. Its 6.8-inch wide display has 1,843,200 total pixels and a 99.99% effective-pixel specification. The compact main chassis measures 178 x 100 x 85.7 mm and weighs 1.05 kg including the trim plate.

Confirm that the vehicle accepts a Double DIN receiver and plan for the appropriate vehicle-specific dash kit, wiring interface, antenna adapter, and steering-wheel-control interface where applicable. The receiver operates from a 12V DC vehicle electrical system and supports 4- to 8-ohm speakers. Add a compatible rear camera, SiriusXM tuner, Maestro interface, or optional KCA-RCDV340 remote only if those functions are needed.
