Kenwood DMX8710S Double DIN 6.92" Digital Media Receiver

The Kenwood DMX8710S is a Double DIN digital multimedia receiver designed to update compatible vehicles with a modern touchscreen interface, smartphone integration, and expanded audio control. Its 6.92-inch HD capacitive display brings navigation, calling, music, radio, and connected-device functions into one dash-mounted unit. It is a practical upgrade for drivers replacing an older factory radio or building a more capable aftermarket infotainment system.

Wireless and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide familiar access to supported phone functions through the receiver's display and voice controls. Built-in Wi-Fi supports the wireless smartphone connection features, while Bluetooth 5.3 supports hands-free calling and wireless audio. The receiver can also wirelessly mirror selected smartphones using the CarbitLink-EasyConnection app.

The DMX8710S is equipped for everyday listening as well as more detailed system tuning. A 13-band graphic EQ, digital time alignment, selectable crossover settings, and subwoofer level control help tailor the sound to the vehicle and speaker system. Its internal amplifier is rated for 50 watts maximum per channel and provides 22 watts per channel of typical output at 1 kHz with less than 10% THD.

For expansion, this receiver includes three 3-volt preouts for connection to external amplification and supports both 2-way and 3-way crossover configurations. USB playback supports common audio formats including MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, and FLAC, plus several video file formats. An HDMI input also allows compatible external devices to be displayed on the screen.

Camera and vehicle-integration features make the DMX8710S suitable for a wide range of custom installations. It has two camera inputs, adjustable parking guidelines, and HD rear-camera compatibility with Kenwood's optional CMOS-740HD camera. iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 compatibility can retain supported factory controls, amplifiers, secondary displays, and vehicle-information functions when used with a compatible vehicle and required installation hardware.

Design & Installation

The DMX8710S uses a standard 178 x 100 mm Double DIN chassis with a 6.92-inch LED-backlit AHVA LCD and electrostatic capacitive touch panel. Physical volume, Home, voice, and menu/attenuation controls supplement touchscreen operation. The display uses a TFT active-matrix system with an RGB striped pixel arrangement.

Confirm dash opening, chassis depth, vehicle-specific wiring, antenna connection, and retained factory-feature requirements before installation. Compatible iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 modules and vehicle-specific accessories are required for supported factory integration features. An optional SiriusXM tuner, optional KCA-HD200 HDMI cable, optional KCA-RCDV340 remote, and compatible cameras are sold separately when those functions are desired.
