Mackie ProFX6v3 6-Channel USB Analog Mixer

The Mackie ProFX6v3 is a compact six-channel analog mixer with USB connectivity for small recording, streaming, rehearsal, and live-sound systems. It gives creators a central place to connect microphones, instruments, stereo sources, headphones, powered speakers, and a computer. Its compact footprint makes it suitable for desktop and portable setups where hands-on level control is useful.

Two Onyx microphone preamps provide up to 60 dB of gain for microphones and other connected sources on channels 1 and 2. Switchable Hi-Z operation on these channels supports direct connection of compatible guitars, basses, and instruments. The mixer also provides fixed two-band EQ and a 100 Hz low-cut filter for practical source shaping.

For computer recording and playback, the ProFX6v3 uses a USB 2.0 interface with 24-bit conversion and supported sample rates up to 192 kHz. Its 2x4 USB routing supports a stereo input from the computer and two stereo outputs to the computer. A blend control provides direct, latency-free monitoring alongside computer playback for overdub work.

The built-in GigFX effects engine provides 24 presets, including room, hall, plate, chorus, delay, echo, flange, and other effects. These effects can add space or texture to vocals and instruments without requiring an external processor. An FX mute footswitch connection is provided for hands-free effect muting when needed.

Balanced main outputs allow the mixer to feed compatible powered speakers, amplifiers, recording devices, or other line-level equipment. A separate headphone output and control-room output support close monitoring in a desktop production setup. It is a practical front end for a small PA, podcast workstation, streaming rig, or home-recording system.

Design & Installation

The ProFX6v3 uses a solid steel chassis with ABS side protection and rotary level controls. Its compact enclosure measures 7.5 inches wide, 8.4 inches deep, and 2.9 inches high. The mixer has an eight-segment dual-column main L/R meter for visual level monitoring.

Place the mixer on a stable, ventilated desktop or equipment surface and connect the supplied-type 12 VDC, 2 A wall-mount power adapter. Use balanced connections where available for microphones and main-output runs, connect the USB-B port to a Mac or PC for audio interfacing, and connect powered speakers or an amplifier to the main outputs. Use the headphone output and blend control when recording sources while monitoring computer playback.
