The Mackie DL32SE is a 32-channel digital rack mixer built for live sound systems that need substantial input capacity without a traditional front-of-house console. Its stagebox-style format places microphone, line-level, output, USB, and network connections in one rack-mountable unit. Mixing is handled remotely through the Master Fader SE control app, helping engineers work from the audience area, stage, or control position.
This mixer is well suited to bands, installed venues, houses of worship, production systems, and recording setups that need many sources and flexible monitor routing. It provides 16 XLR inputs plus 16 XLR/TRS combo inputs, allowing microphones, DI sources, keyboards, playback devices, and instruments to connect in one system. Inputs 31 and 32 support Hi-Z instrument connection with unbalanced 1/4-inch cables.
Onyx+ microphone preamps provide the analog input stage, while 24-bit conversion and a 48 kHz sample rate support its digital mixing workflow. Each input channel includes 4-band parametric EQ, a high-pass filter, gate, compression, and RTA/Spectrograph tools. Output processing adds high-pass and low-pass filters, 31-band graphic EQ, compressor/limiter, alignment delay, and analysis tools.
The DL32SE offers 10 fully assignable balanced XLR outputs, eight stereo-linkable aux sends, six stereo-linkable subgroups, and a main L/R bus. This routing capacity supports separate main, monitor, in-ear, subgroup, and effects feeds from a single compact mixer. Four stereo effects processors have dedicated sends and returns, so effects processing does not consume the main output busses.
For recording and playback, the DL32SE functions as a 32-in/32-out USB 2.0 audio interface for Mac or PC. It can capture multitrack performances, return backing tracks through a dedicated stereo return channel, and support virtual soundchecks. The included Waveform OEM software and DAW Essentials plug-in bundle extend the mixer into a compact recording and production workflow.

Design & Installation
The DL32SE uses a compact stagebox-style chassis with a built-in handle and included rack ears for 4U rack installation. Its connection layout includes 16 balanced XLR inputs, 16 combo XLR/TRS inputs, 10 balanced XLR outputs, a 1/4-inch stereo headphone output, USB-B, Ethernet, IEC power, and a Kensington security slot. The detachable IEC power cord is user-replaceable.
For wireless mixing, connect the mixer’s external-control Ethernet port to a LAN port on a compatible wireless router using CAT5 Ethernet cable, then place compatible control devices on that network. Connect the XLR outputs to powered speakers, amplifier inputs, monitor systems, in-ear monitor transmitters, or other line-level devices as needed. For computer recording, connect USB-B to a Mac or Windows computer; macOS is class-compliant, while Windows requires the Mackie USB driver.

Does the DL32SE have built-in wireless control?
The DL32SE connects to an external wireless router through its 100 Mb Ethernet external-control connection. The Master Fader SE app can then control the mixer from compatible iOS, Android, macOS, or Windows devices.
Can I connect guitars directly to this mixer?
Yes. Inputs 31 and 32 support Hi-Z connection when using an unbalanced 1/4-inch instrument cable. The remaining combo inputs accept balanced or unbalanced 1/4-inch line-level sources.
Can it record a full multitrack live performance?
Yes. The built-in USB 2.0 interface supports 32 inputs and 32 outputs at 48 kHz with 16- or 24-bit audio. A Mac or Windows computer is required for USB recording and playback.
What is needed for rack mounting?
The DL32SE occupies 4U of rack space and includes rack ears. The side handle must be removed before rack mounting, and four rack screws are required but are not supplied.
Does it provide phantom power for condenser microphones?
Yes. Each XLR input has individually controlled 48 VDC phantom power. The specified maximum current is 14 mA for any single input.
Can performers adjust their own monitor mixes?
Yes. The Master Fader SE app supports access limiting, allowing selected users to control monitor mixes without access to critical mixer functions. The mixer supports control from up to 20 devices simultaneously.
