The Mackie DLZ Creator is an adaptive digital mixer designed for podcasting, streaming, video production, and other spoken-word content. It brings microphone mixing, caller integration, recording, playback, and monitoring into one desktop unit. It is a practical fit for creators who want organized, multichannel audio without assembling a separate mixer, recorder, and computer interface.

Its three operating modes—Easy, Enhanced, and Pro—change the control experience to suit different levels of familiarity. Easy mode emphasizes guided operation, while Enhanced and Pro modes provide progressively deeper access to channel processing and routing. This lets a new creator start simply while leaving room to expand control as a setup grows.

Four Onyx80 microphone preamps provide up to 80 dB of gain for microphones used by hosts and guests. AutoMix can manage up to four microphone channels, helping keep the overall conversation intelligible when multiple people speak. Per-channel processing includes a high-pass filter, 3-band parametric EQ, noise gate, de-esser, and compressor.

The DLZ Creator supports computer-based workflows through its 14x4 USB-C audio interface, while also supporting direct multitrack recording to microSD media or a USB flash drive. Bluetooth 5.0 provides a stereo wireless input option for a phone or other compatible device. Mix Minus can be used with a Bluetooth-connected caller to help avoid audible echo in the return feed.

For monitoring, the mixer provides four stereo headphone outputs with individual level control. In Pro mode, each headphone output can receive its own customized mix. Main outputs can feed powered monitors, a recorder, or another audio system, making the DLZ Creator suitable as the central control point for a compact production desk.

Design & Installation

The DLZ Creator uses a compact desktop mixer layout with a 10.1-inch anti-glare color touchscreen, nine 100 mm faders, five color-coded rotary controls, backlit buttons, and six sample pads. Mackie does not publish a specific chassis-material designation. Its physical layout combines direct fader control with touchscreen access to channel setup, processing, recording, and routing functions.

Place the mixer on a stable, ventilated desktop or production surface and connect the included 18 V DC power supply before use. Plug microphones into the four XLR/TRS combo inputs, connect headphones to the four 1/4-inch headphone outputs, and use the 1/4-inch main outputs for monitors or downstream equipment. Connect a computer by USB-C for interface operation, or install a compatible FAT32-formatted microSD card or USB drive for standalone recording and playback.
