The Mackie ProFX16v3 is a 16-channel professional analog mixer with USB audio for live sound, recording, streaming, rehearsals, and production spaces. It provides hands-on level control, routing, EQ, monitor sends, and effects in one console. It is designed for users who need to manage multiple microphones, instruments, playback sources, and monitor mixes without relying solely on computer controls.

Eleven Onyx microphone preamps provide up to 60 dB of gain with low-noise operation, supporting dynamic, condenser, and other microphone types used in performance and content-production setups. The mixer includes global 48V phantom power for microphone channels and a 100 Hz low-cut filter to help reduce unwanted low-frequency rumble. Channels 1 through 8 also include single-knob compression for practical level management on sources such as vocals and drums.

The integrated USB 2.0 interface supports 24-bit conversion at sample rates up to 192 kHz. Its 2x4 USB I/O arrangement provides a stereo USB input and two stereo USB output paths for flexible recording and playback routing. A dedicated blend control lets users monitor direct inputs and USB return audio together with zero-latency direct monitoring.

For shaping a mix, the ProFX16v3 uses three-band EQ across its channels, with sweepable midrange control on all channels except the 1/8-inch stereo input. Four aux sends support monitor and effects routing, while dual stereo subgroup buses add options for organizing and controlling groups of channels. The built-in GigFX processor offers 24 presets covering effects such as reverbs, delays, chorus, flange, and more.

The mixer fits naturally at the center of a powered-speaker PA, recording workstation, podcasting setup, or hybrid live-streaming rig. Balanced main, subgroup, control-room, aux, and FX outputs make it suitable for connecting speakers, monitor amplifiers, outboard gear, and recording equipment. A separate headphone output, dedicated control-room output, and optional rack ear kit help adapt the console to both portable and installed systems.

Design & Installation

The ProFX16v3 uses a console-style layout with dedicated channel controls, 60 mm faders, illuminated status indicators, a 12-segment stereo main meter, and clearly separated input and output sections. Its physical footprint measures 17.7 inches wide by 17.1 inches deep by 4.4 inches high, and it weighs 15.2 pounds. The mixer is powered through a 3-pin IEC line-cord connection and uses a universal 100-240 VAC power supply.

Place the mixer on a stable desktop, production table, or suitable equipment surface with room for rear-panel and top-panel cable access. Connect microphones, instruments, playback devices, powered speakers or amplifiers, headphones, and a computer as needed using compatible XLR, 1/4-inch, 1/8-inch, and USB connections. For permanent rack integration, Mackie offers an optional ProFX16v3 rack ear kit; a dedicated footswitch input can be used to mute the onboard effects.
