The PreSonus StudioLive 32S is a 40-channel digital console mixer designed for live sound, installed systems, broadcast support, and multitrack recording. It combines hands-on console control with recallable digital routing and processing, helping engineers manage complex productions without relying on separate outboard processors. Thirty-three touch-sensitive motorized faders provide direct control across its channel and mix layers. Its compact console format is also rack-mountable for fixed installations and portable production systems.
This mixer is suited to venues, houses of worship, production companies, recording spaces, and bands that need substantial input capacity with flexible monitor and output routing. It provides 32 fully recallable XMAX-R microphone preamps and 16 onboard XLR mix outputs. Sixteen FlexMixes can be assigned as aux mixes, subgroups, or matrix mixes to adapt the console to wedges, in-ear monitoring, zones, recording feeds, or broadcast mixes. Four dedicated effects buses and four additional subgroups expand routing options further.
The StudioLive 32S is built around PreSonus FLEX DSP processing, supporting 286 simultaneous processors. Fat Channel processing is available on every input and output, with EQ, dynamics, and modeled processing options for shaping sources and managing mix buses. Its FLEX FX section supplies four effect slots and four dedicated effects buses for reverb and delay treatments. The system operates at 24-bit resolution with 44.1 or 48 kHz sample rates and specifies 1.9 ms total local analog-input-to-analog-output latency with processing active.
For recording and playback, the StudioLive 32S integrates a 64x64 bidirectional USB audio interface, described as a 128-channel USB interface, plus onboard multitrack SD-card recording. This combination supports recording directly to a computer, capturing to SD media, or using recorded tracks for Virtual Soundcheck. Bluetooth 4.1 stereo input, stereo RCA tape I/O, AES/EBU output, and a dedicated headphone output provide additional connection options. Capture multitracking software and a perpetual Fender Studio Pro license are provided through hardware registration.
AVB networking lets the StudioLive 32S serve as the center of an expandable StudioLive Series III system. It can connect with compatible PreSonus NSB-series stage boxes for remote I/O and EarMix 16M personal monitor mixers for performer monitoring. An optional AVB-D16 interface can add 16 channels of Dante I/O. This makes the 32S a practical starting point for systems that may later need more stage inputs, personal monitoring, or networked audio distribution.
Key Features
- 40-Channel Digital Mixing: Provides broad channel capacity with recallable digital control for live and recording workflows.
- 32 XMAX-R Mic Preamps: Supplies 32 recallable microphone preamps for microphones, DI sources, and stage inputs.

- FLEX DSP Processing: Delivers Fat Channel processing and FLEX FX without requiring separate outboard processors.
- 64x64 USB Audio: Supports multichannel computer recording, playback, and plug-in routing over USB 2.0.
- AVB System Expansion: Connects compatible NSB stage boxes and EarMix 16M personal monitor mixers over AVB.
Design & Installation
The StudioLive 32S uses a gray, full-size digital-console layout with 33 touch-sensitive motorized faders and one-to-one channel control. PreSonus specifies a compact, rack-mountable console design, but does not publish enclosure-material details. Its 32.37-inch width, 22.97-inch depth, and 37.2-pound weight should be considered when planning a desk, road case, or equipment rack installation.
Connect microphones and balanced line-level sources to the 32 analog inputs, then assign FlexMix and main outputs to monitor systems, amplifiers, powered loudspeakers, recording feeds, or zone distribution. Use USB 2.0 for computer recording and playback, and use an SD card for onboard multitrack recording and Virtual Soundcheck. AVB expansion requires compatible PreSonus AVB devices and appropriate locking Ethernet connections; optional Dante operation requires the separately available AVB-D16 interface.
