The Mackie PROFX10V3 is a compact 10-channel analog mixer with USB recording for live sound, home studios, streaming, and content production. It brings microphones, instruments, stereo sources, and computer audio together in one hands-on control surface. Four Onyx microphone preamps provide the front end for vocal, spoken-word, and instrument capture.

This mixer is well suited to creators and performers who need more control than a basic audio interface provides. Its channel processing, built-in effects, and dedicated monitoring controls help manage a small live rig or desktop recording setup. Channels 1 and 2 also support direct Hi-Z instrument connection, reducing the need for a separate DI box in compatible setups.

Audio is routed to a computer through USB 2.0 with 24-bit conversion and selectable sample rates up to 192 kHz. The USB system supports one stereo input and two stereo outputs, enabling separate playback routing alongside the main mix. A blend control supports direct hardware monitoring for overdub work without relying solely on computer monitoring.

The GigFX engine supplies 24 onboard effect presets, including room, hall, plate, chorus, delay, echo, flange, and slapback-style effects. One-knob compression on channels 1 and 2 helps manage dynamic vocal or instrument sources. Three-band EQ and a 100 Hz low-cut filter on mic-input channels provide practical tone shaping at the mixer.

For a complete small system, connect microphones and instruments to the input channels, route the main outputs to powered speakers or an amplifier, and use the headphone/control-room output for monitoring. The PROFX10V3 also includes an FX send, footswitch connection for FX mute, and channel inserts for compatible external processing. Its compact format can serve as the central mixer for a desktop workstation, rehearsal space, podcast setup, or compact performance rig.

Key Features

  • 10-Channel Analog Mixing: Combines microphone, instrument, stereo line, and computer audio sources in one mixer.
  • Four Onyx Mic Preamps: Provides up to 60 dB of gain for compatible microphones and sources.
  • 24-Bit/192 kHz USB Audio: Connects to a computer for high-resolution recording and playback.
  • GigFX Effects Engine: Adds 24 selectable effects presets without requiring an external processor.
  • Direct Hardware Monitoring: Blends computer playback with the mixer feed for practical overdub monitoring.
  • Channel 1/2 Hi-Z Inputs: Allows direct connection of guitars and other high-impedance instruments.

Design & Installation

The PROFX10V3 uses a compact tabletop mixer layout with dedicated channel controls, main meters, a preset display, and front-panel main outputs. Mackie specifies a rugged design, while the published documentation focuses on the mixer’s physical controls and connection layout rather than naming a specific chassis material. At 10.7 inches wide and 4.9 pounds, it is sized for portable use and fixed desktop setups.

Connect microphones to the XLR inputs, line-level sources to the appropriate 1/4-inch or stereo inputs, and powered speakers or an amplifier to the main outputs. Channels 1 and 2 accept balanced mic or line signals through combo inputs and can be switched to Hi-Z for direct instruments. For computer recording, connect the USB-B port to a compatible computer, set levels before raising the main output, and use the headphone/control-room blend control when tracking overdubs.
