The Mackie DL32S is a 32-channel digital rack mixer designed for live sound, rehearsal spaces, installed venues, and multitrack recording setups. It places the audio I/O at the stage or equipment rack while mixing is handled from the Master Fader control app. This approach helps reduce the need for a traditional front-of-house console in systems where remote control is preferred.
Its 32 Onyx+ recallable microphone preamps provide connection capacity for larger bands, worship teams, theater productions, and multi-mic drum kits. Sixteen XLR inputs and sixteen XLR/TRS combo inputs accommodate microphones, balanced line-level sources, and compatible instruments on channels 31 and 32. Ten assignable balanced XLR outputs support independently routed main, monitor, in-ear, or external-processing feeds.
The DL32S is built around 48 kHz, 24-bit digital audio processing with 1.5 ms analog-input-to-main-output system latency. Every input channel includes a 4-band parametric EQ, high-pass filter, gate, compression, and RTA/spectrograph tools. Output buses add 4-band EQ, high-pass/low-pass filtering, 31-band graphic EQ, compression/limiting, alignment delay, and analysis tools for practical system tuning.
Built-in Wi-Fi allows compatible iOS, Android, Mac, or Windows devices to control the mixer through Mackie Master Fader. The mixer can support up to 20 control devices, making it suitable for a house engineer plus performers managing personal monitor mixes. Its network modes include Access Point, External Router, and Wi-Fi Client configurations.
For recording and virtual soundchecks, the DL32S functions as a 32-in/32-out USB 2.0 audio interface at 48 kHz. A connected computer can record or play back selected channels and outputs, helping users capture performances or rehearse mixes from recorded tracks. The compact 4U rack-capable format makes the DL32S a practical central mixer for portable PA systems, permanent venues, and recording-oriented live rigs.
Key Features
- 32 Onyx+ Preamps: Recallable microphone preamps provide input capacity for full live productions.
- Built-In Wi-Fi: Control the mixer wirelessly through the Master Fader app.
- 32x32 USB Audio: Record and play back up to 32 channels.
- Extensive Channel DSP: EQ, filtering, gate, compression, and analysis are available per input.
- 15 Output Buses: Flexible routing supports main, monitor, subgroup, and auxiliary mixes.
- Four Stereo FX Engines: Dedicated effects processors provide reverbs, delays, choruses, flangers, and more.
Design & Installation
The DL32S uses a compact stagebox-style rack mixer design with a side handle, removable protective corner pieces, status LEDs, an external Wi-Fi antenna, and a front-panel headphone control. It occupies 4U of rack space when fitted with its included rack ears. The layout places 16 XLR inputs, 16 combo XLR/TRS inputs, 10 XLR outputs, USB-B, Ethernet, and power connections directly on the mixer for organized system integration.
For installation, connect microphones and line-level sources to the appropriate input channels, then route the balanced XLR outputs to powered speakers, amplifier inputs, monitor systems, in-ear monitor transmitters, or other line-level equipment. Connect a computer by USB-B for multichannel recording and playback, and use Master Fader on a compatible device for setup and mixing control. The built-in Wi-Fi is suitable for typical control needs, while Ethernet can be used with an external router or Wi-Fi client configuration when a larger or integrated network is required.
