KRK RP5G5-NA 5" Powered Studio Monitor

The KRK RP5G5-NA ROKIT 5 Generation Five is a self-powered 5-inch, two-way studio reference monitor designed for nearfield listening, production, editing, and critical playback. Its built-in amplification eliminates the need for an external speaker amplifier, helping create a compact monitoring setup from an audio interface, mixer, controller, or other line-level source. Each RP5G5-NA is sold as one powered monitor, so a stereo system uses two units.

This monitor is suited to musicians, producers, DJs, content creators, and listeners who need a compact speaker with dedicated low- and high-frequency drivers. The 5-inch woven Kevlar aramid-fiber woofer handles low and low-mid frequencies, while the 1-inch silk-dome tweeter covers the upper range. Its stated frequency response is 54 Hz to 30 kHz within ±3 dB.

ROKIT Generation Five adds three selectable voicing modes for different listening tasks. Mix Mode is intended for flat frequency and phase response, Focus Mode emphasizes midrange evaluation, and Create Mode provides an alternate voicing for writing, producing, and casual listening. Twenty-five boundary and tuning EQ combinations help adapt the monitor to placement and room conditions.

A bi-amplified Class D amplifier section supplies separate power to the woofer and tweeter. The LF amplifier is rated at 35 watts and the HF amplifier at 20 watts, for 55 watts of total rated power. The bass-reflex enclosure, low-diffraction baffle, and 155-degree horizontal by 126-degree vertical coverage support controlled nearfield monitoring.

The RP5G5-NA connects through its balanced XLR/1/4-inch TRS combo analog input, making it appropriate for common studio line-level outputs. Acoustic foam wedge isolation pads are included to help reduce surface resonance and support positioning. For a larger or more permanent setup, the cabinet includes four M6 mounting points compatible with specified optional KRK mounting hardware.

Design & Installation

The cabinet uses PVC vinyl-wrapped MDF, while the baffle is made from structurally reinforced high-impact polystyrene. Its 2-way bass-reflex configuration uses a front port and a low-diffraction baffle design. Two magnetic faceplates allow grille or no-grille presentation flexibility.

Place the monitor vertically on a stable surface and use the included foam isolation pad to help limit transferred vibration. Connect a line-level source using an appropriate XLR or 1/4-inch TRS cable, then select the voicing and EQ settings that suit the room and intended use. The four bottom M6 mounting points can be used with the optional KRKSTDX68W1 mounting bracket or KRKSTDX4A1 35 mm mounting adapter.
