The Kenwood DMX8709S is a double-DIN digital multimedia receiver designed to modernize an in-dash system with smartphone control, Bluetooth calling, AM/FM radio, USB media playback, and camera connectivity. Its 6.75-inch WVGA capacitive touch display provides a responsive interface for daily driving functions. It is suited to drivers replacing an older factory radio or building a more connected aftermarket audio system.

Wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto let compatible phones bring navigation, calling, messages, and supported music apps to the receiver display. Wireless operation helps keep the cabin uncluttered for routine trips, while USB remains available for wired phone connection and media playback. Android USB mirroring is also supported with select compatible Android devices.

The DMX8709S supplies 50 watts maximum power across four channels, with a rated full-bandwidth output of 22 watts by four channels at less than 1% THD. Three 4-volt preouts support adding external amplification for front, rear, and subwoofer channels. Its 13-band equalizer, digital time alignment, and adjustable crossover settings give an installer useful tools for tailoring speaker balance and system staging.

A capacitive TN LCD panel with LED backlighting delivers 800 x 480 WVGA resolution and a 6.75-inch diagonal picture size. Built-in Wi-Fi supports wireless smartphone integration, while Bluetooth 5.0 supports hands-free calling, audio streaming, dual-phone connection, and Music Mix pairing for up to five devices. The receiver also includes a Type-D HDMI input, AV input, video output, and USB connectivity.

For a practical safety-oriented upgrade, the DMX8709S supports up to three camera inputs and adjustable rear-camera parking guidelines when a compatible backup camera is installed. Its 75 mm short chassis can make fitment easier in vehicles with limited dash depth. The unit can serve as a standalone factory-radio replacement or as the control center for a system with amplifiers, cameras, SiriusXM, and compatible vehicle-data integration hardware.
