JVC KW-M180BT Double DIN 6.75" Digital Media Receiver

The JVC KW-M180BT is a double-DIN digital media receiver designed to update a factory radio with a 6.75-inch capacitive touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, USB playback, and AM/FM radio. It is a practical choice for drivers who want modern phone access and sound adjustment without a CD mechanism. Its shallow 75 mm chassis can also help simplify fitment in dashboards with limited behind-dash depth.

Bluetooth 5.0 supports hands-free calling, phonebook access, voice dialing with compatible phones, and wireless music streaming. A wired microphone is included for call use, while the rear USB connection provides up to 1.5A charging power. The receiver can register up to eight Bluetooth devices, although one device connects at a time.

For music stored on a USB drive, the KW-M180BT supports MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, and FLAC audio files. It also supports compatible MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, and MKV video files from USB media. The capacitive WVGA display uses an 800 x 480 RGB TFT panel with LED backlighting for clear source and control access.

The built-in amplifier delivers up to 45 watts by four channels, with 16 watts by four channels of full-bandwidth power at less than 1% THD. A 13-band graphic EQ, adjustable high-pass and low-pass filters, bass boost, and digital time alignment allow the system to be tuned around the vehicle and speaker layout. Three pairs of 2-volt preamp outputs provide a foundation for adding external amplifiers or a powered subwoofer.

The KW-M180BT is also ready for an optional rear-view camera and includes adjustable parking guidelines. Its RCA A/V input and rear video output allow integration with compatible external video equipment. Android users with a compatible device, Bluetooth connection, USB connection, and the Mirroring OB for JVC app can use wired screen mirroring; this receiver does not include Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

Design & Installation

The receiver has a fixed-face design with blue key illumination, a capacitive touch panel, and a short 75 mm chassis. Its transparent TN LCD panel uses an active-matrix TFT drive system, RGB-striped pixel arrangement, and LED backlighting. The display includes dimmer settings and multilingual menu support in English, Spanish, and French.

Confirm vehicle-specific dash-kit, wiring-harness, antenna-adapter, and steering-wheel-control requirements before installation. The unit fits a standard double-DIN main-unit opening measuring 178 x 100 x 75 mm, while the supplied sleeve-and-trim installation dimensions are 182 x 112 x 75 mm. Connect the parking-brake lead for applicable safety-related functions, connect the reverse lead when using an optional camera, and use a vehicle-specific steering-wheel-control adapter if retaining compatible factory controls.
