JVC KD-MR305BTS Marine Gauge Digital Media Receiver

The JVC KD-MR305BTS is a compact marine and motorsports digital media receiver designed for a 3-inch gauge-style mounting opening. It provides Bluetooth audio, USB playback, AM/FM radio, Weather Band reception, SiriusXM readiness, and a rear-camera input without using a CD mechanism. It is a practical choice for boats, UTVs, golf carts, and other 12-volt installations where space and environmental resistance matter.

Its built-in four-channel amplifier delivers up to 19 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms, giving a straightforward way to power compatible marine speakers directly from the receiver. The 13-band equalizer, eight EQ presets, loudness control, and adjustable high- and low-pass filters allow the system to be tuned for the speakers and listening environment. Three pairs of RCA outputs also make it suitable as the control center for an expanded system with external amplifiers and a subwoofer.

The KD-MR305BTS supports Bluetooth 5.0 audio streaming with A2DP and AVRCP control profiles, letting users play and control compatible music from a paired device. A rear USB port supports mass-storage devices and iPhone music playback, while supplying up to 1.5 amps of charging current. USB playback supports MP3, WMA, AAC, and FLAC files, including FLAC up to 24-bit/48 kHz.

Marine-focused protection is built into the receiver's design. The faceplate is rated IP66, while the chassis is rated IPX4; the unit also includes IP6X dust protection, ASTM B117 rust protection, ASTM D4329 UV protection, vibration resistance, and conformal coating on its circuitry. These features help it suit exposed installations where moisture, dust, sunlight, vibration, and salt spray are common concerns.

A 2.7-inch color TFT display provides source and setup information, with day and night display modes plus variable-color key illumination. The receiver includes AM, FM, and Weather Band tuning for radio and weather information, and it is SiriusXM-ready when paired with a compatible optional tuner and subscription. A rear camera input can display an optional reverse camera feed when the vessel is put in reverse or when the camera source is selected manually.

The KD-MR305BTS uses a round gauge-style body with a 2.7-inch color TFT display, LED backlighting, and variable-color key illumination. Its protective design includes an IP66-rated faceplate and IPX4-rated body, along with dust, UV, corrosion, and vibration protections intended for marine and off-road environments. The unit weighs 2.0 pounds including its trim bezel, mounting plate, and screws.

Installation requires a 77 mm (3-inch) circular cutout and adequate rear clearance for the 74 mm-deep body and wiring. It can be mounted with the supplied mounting plate on panels up to 8 mm thick or with the supplied U-bracket on panels up to 15 mm thick. Use a negative-ground 12-volt electrical system, connect compatible 2- to 8-ohm speakers, and use the RCA outputs when adding external amplification or a powered subwoofer.
