JBL Wind 3S 1.5" Handlebar Bluetooth Speaker

The JBL Wind 3S is a compact, self-powered Bluetooth speaker designed for bicycle and motorcycle handlebars. It provides a straightforward way to bring personal music playback along without connecting to a vehicle stereo or external amplifier. Its included dock lets the speaker be attached and removed from the handlebar mounting bracket with ease.

Built for riders and outdoor users, the Wind 3S combines a small 1.5-inch transducer with 5 watts RMS output. Its 110 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response is suited to portable music listening while riding, parked, or relaxing outdoors. Bluetooth 5.0 streaming supports playback from compatible phones, tablets, and other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

Two selectable EQ modes help tailor playback to where the speaker is being used. Sport mode is intended for outdoor listening, while Bass mode is intended for indoor listening. A long press of the play/pause control switches between the two EQ settings.

The Wind 3S carries an IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating for use in changing outdoor conditions. JBL specifies up to five hours of music play time, depending on volume level and audio content. Its 1,050 mAh battery recharges in approximately 2.5 hours with a 5V, 1A charging supply.

This speaker is a self-contained audio solution rather than a conventional wired car-audio component. It can serve as a simple upgrade for a bicycle, motorcycle, scooter, or other handlebar-equipped ride when Bluetooth playback and quick removal are preferred. The compact dock-and-go format also makes it practical to take off the vehicle when the ride is over.

Design & Installation

The JBL Wind 3S uses a compact 90 x 73.2 x 35.8 mm enclosure that weighs 0.230 kg. Its integrated controls provide power, Bluetooth pairing, volume adjustment, playback, and track navigation. The IP67-rated design is built for portable outdoor listening, but the speaker should not be charged while wet or while a cable is connected during exposure to liquids.

Install the included mounting bracket on a bicycle or motorcycle handlebar, using the supplied non-slip pads as needed, then dock the speaker into the bracket. Pair a Bluetooth source device to the speaker and use the on-speaker controls for playback and volume. A USB Type-C cable is included; use an appropriate USB power source for charging and fully dry the speaker before charging after exposure to water.
