Mogami PLATINUM GUITAR-20 20' TS Instrument Cable $209.95
Bundle total: $812.57

The Gretsch G5425 Electromatic Jet Club is a right-handed, single-cutaway solid-body electric guitar designed for players seeking a compact Jet-style instrument with dual humbucking pickups. Its chambered basswood body and arched laminated maple top provide the platform for a resonant, focused electric-guitar voice. The Firebird Red top with black back gives it a distinctive two-tone appearance.

This model suits guitarists building a first quality electric setup, adding a straightforward dual-humbucker guitar to a collection, or looking for an instrument for rehearsal and performance. A bolt-on maple neck and 24.6-inch scale create a familiar playing layout with a slightly shorter scale length than many standard electric guitars. The rosewood fingerboard carries 22 medium-jumbo frets and Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays.

Two Gretsch Dual-Coil Humbucking pickups supply the G5425's HH pickup configuration. A three-position toggle selects bridge pickup, both pickups, or neck pickup, while master volume and master tone controls provide simple onboard adjustment. This layout gives players direct access to contrasting pickup voices without a complicated control arrangement.

An Adjusto-Matic bridge and stop tailpiece form the guitar's fixed bridge system. The hardware is finished in chrome, with die-cast tuning machines supporting routine tuning and string changes. Factory-installed D'Addario EXL110 nickel-plated steel strings are specified in .010 to .046 gauges.

The G5425 can serve as the core instrument in an electric-guitar rig with an amplifier and appropriate instrument cable. Its fixed bridge, dual pickups, and straightforward controls make it suitable for players who prefer a conventional solid-body format over a vibrato-equipped design. A case or gig bag is not included, though Gretsch lists compatible optional carrying solutions.

Key Features

  • Chambered Basswood Body: Reduces body mass while retaining a solid-body Jet format.
  • Arched Maple Top: Adds the model's shaped top construction and visual definition.
  • Dual Humbucking Pickups: Provides bridge, neck, and combined pickup selections.
  • 24.6-Inch Scale: Delivers the specified shorter-scale Gretsch playing feel.
  • Adjusto-Matic Bridge: Supports adjustable setup with a fixed stop-tail design.
  • 22 Medium-Jumbo Frets: Provides a full two-octave-range fretboard layout.

Design & Installation

The G5425 uses a chambered basswood body with a gloss polyester finish, an arched laminated maple top, and a bolt-on maple neck. Its rosewood fingerboard has a 12-inch radius, pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays, and a synthetic bone nut. Chrome hardware, a pearloid Gretsch-logo pickguard, G-Arrow knobs, and a black switch tip complete the specified design.

As an electric guitar, the G5425 does not require vehicle-style mounting or speaker wiring. Set up the instrument to personal playing preferences, connect it to a compatible guitar amplifier or effects chain, and use the master volume, master tone, and three-position pickup selector for sound adjustment. For transport and storage, Gretsch lists the optional G6238FT Flat Top Solid Body Hardshell case and G2164 Solid Body Gig Bag.
