The Gretsch G2420 Streamliner is a right-handed, single-cut hollow body electric guitar designed for players seeking a full-bodied electric sound with classic Gretsch styling. Its fully hollow laminated maple construction and arched top, back, and body profile provide natural acoustic resonance. The Aged Brooklyn Burst finish, tortoise pickguard, and nickel hardware give it a traditional visual character.

This guitar suits players moving between clean rhythm work, melodic leads, jazz-influenced chords, rockabilly, blues, and driven electric tones. A pair of Broad'Tron BT-3S humbucking pickups supplies the amplified voice, with separate neck and bridge pickup volume controls for balancing the two pickups. A three-position toggle switch selects bridge, combined, or neck pickup operation.

The G2420 uses Broad'Tron BT-3S pickups with a combination of Alnico 5 and Alnico 2 magnets. These humbuckers are designed to produce tight, full lows, pronounced mids, and clear highs. The master-volume push/pull control adds coil-splitting capability for alternate single-coil-style pickup voices.

A nato set neck with a Soft "C" profile supports a familiar fretting feel, while the 24.75-inch scale and 12-inch-radius laurel fingerboard provide a comfortable platform for chord work and bends. The fingerboard carries 22 medium-jumbo frets, pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays, and black side dots. A real bone nut completes the neck specification.

The G2420 is equipped with an Adjusto-Matic bridge on a secured laurel base and a Chromatic II tailpiece. It can serve as a primary hollow body electric guitar or add a larger-bodied, fully hollow option to a guitar collection. Its master tone, master volume, individual pickup volumes, pickup selector, and coil split provide several onboard tone-shaping options before the signal reaches an amplifier or effects setup.

Key Features

  • Fully Hollow Maple Body: Arched laminated maple construction adds acoustic resonance and projection.
  • Broad'Tron BT-3S Pickups: Dual humbuckers provide clear highs, strong mids, and full lows.
  • Push/Pull Coil Split: Master volume control accesses alternate single-coil-style sounds.
  • Soft "C" Nato Neck: Set-neck construction supports comfortable fretting across the fingerboard.
  • Adjusto-Matic Bridge: Adjustable bridge is mounted on a secured laurel base.
  • Chromatic II Tailpiece: Fixed tailpiece complements the guitar's traditional hollow-body design.

Design & Installation

The G2420 has a fully hollow, single-cut Streamliner body made from laminated maple, including arched laminated maple top and back sections. Parallel tone bars support the body construction, while aged-white binding with black/white/black purfling outlines the body. Additional appointments include a gloss finish, three-ply tortoise pickguard with gold Gretsch logo, die-cast sealed tuning machines, radio control knobs, and nickel-finished hardware.

For setup, fit the included .010-.046 nickel-plated steel strings through the Chromatic II tailpiece, tune with the sealed die-cast machines, and connect the guitar to a compatible instrument amplifier using a standard guitar instrument cable. Use the three-way pickup toggle, individual pickup volumes, master tone, and master volume to shape the signal at the guitar. A qualified guitar technician can perform bridge, intonation, action, or neck adjustments when needed.
