The Jackson JS Series Concert Bass JS3VQ is a right-handed five-string electric bass designed for players who need extended low-range capability in a performance-oriented instrument. Its 35-inch scale supports the low B string while retaining a familiar electric-bass layout. The Transparent Red Burst finish and quilted maple art-grain top give it a distinct visual identity without changing its practical focus.

This bass is suited to players moving into five-string bass, musicians covering material that calls for lower notes, and performers who want flexible onboard tone shaping. Dual Jackson covered high-output humbucking pickups provide the pickup foundation, with separate neck and bridge volume controls for blending their output. An active three-band EQ provides bass, middle, and treble adjustment directly from the instrument.

The JS3VQ combines a poplar body with a bolt-on maple neck built with graphite reinforcement and a scarf joint. Its satin neck finish is intended to provide a smooth playing surface, while the fully bound neck and matching bound headstock add finished detailing. The 24 jumbo frets provide two full octaves of playing range on the G string.

A 12-inch to 16-inch compound-radius amaranth fingerboard is rounder near the nut and gradually flatter higher on the neck. This profile accommodates chord and groove work in lower positions while providing a flatter upper-register surface for more articulated runs. Pearloid sharkfin inlays offer clear position reference points across the fingerboard.

For a bass rig, the JS3VQ connects to a bass amplifier, DI box, pedalboard, recording interface, or PA system through a standard instrument cable. The Jackson HiMass bridge and sealed die-cast tuning machines provide the core hardware for string support and tuning adjustment. It is supplied with .045-.130 nickel-plated steel strings, making it ready for standard five-string bass applications after normal tuning and setup checks.

Design & Installation

The JS3VQ uses a lightweight, resonant poplar Concert Bass body with a gloss finish and quilted maple art-grain top. Its maple neck has white binding, a satin finish, a black plastic nut, and a Jackson pointed 5-in-line headstock. Black hardware, black pickup covers, dome-style knobs, and pearloid sharkfin inlays complement the Transparent Red Burst finish.

As an electric bass, it does not require vehicle-style mounting or speaker wiring. Tune the installed .045-.130 nickel-plated steel strings to the desired five-string bass tuning, connect the output to a compatible bass amp, DI, interface, or pedal chain with an instrument cable, and use the two volume controls plus active EQ to set the desired pickup blend and tone. Saddle-height and truss-rod wrenches are included for applicable setup adjustments.
