The Jackson X Series Spectra Bass SBX IV is a right-handed, 4-string electric bass built for players who want a flexible instrument for rehearsal, recording, and live use. Its dual-humbucker layout and active/passive electronics provide a broad starting point for different musical styles. The Gloss Black finish and black hardware give it a clean, coordinated appearance. This model is identified by Jackson part number 2919924503.

The SBX IV uses two passive Jackson medium-output humbucking pickups for a punchy, articulate foundation. A blend control lets players balance the neck and bridge pickups, while a two-way toggle enables coil-split pickup operation. The active 3-band EQ provides additional tone shaping when the active circuit is engaged. A push/pull volume control switches between active and passive operation.

Its 34-inch scale and four-string format provide the familiar feel and range expected from a standard electric bass. The maple neck runs through the body and is graphite reinforced, supporting a stable playing platform. A scarf joint and dual-action head-adjust truss rod are part of the neck construction. The result is a bass designed around solid tuning and setup fundamentals.

The bound laurel fingerboard has a 12-inch to 16-inch compound radius, becoming flatter farther up the neck. Twenty-four jumbo frets provide two octaves of range per string, while white dot inlays offer clear position reference. Jackson's Speed Neck profile is intended for comfortable movement across the fingerboard. The 1.5-inch black plastic nut supports conventional 4-string bass spacing.

A Jackson HiMass hardtail bridge anchors the strings and works with sealed die-cast tuning machines for straightforward setup and maintenance. The bass ships with nickel-plated steel strings in .045-.105 gauges. Its offset Spectra body is made from nyatoh and pairs with a color-matched gloss neck finish. Connect it to a bass amplifier, DI, audio interface, or pedalboard using a standard instrument cable.

Key Features

  • Dual Humbucking Pickups: Two Jackson medium-output humbuckers provide a balanced, articulate pickup foundation.
  • Active/Passive Operation: Push/pull volume control bypasses the active circuit when desired.
  • 3-Band Active EQ: Bass, mid, and treble shaping expands tonal adjustment options.
  • Coil-Split Toggle: Two-way switch adds alternate pickup voicings from the humbuckers.
  • Neck-Through Maple Design: Graphite-reinforced maple neck construction supports stability and sustained response.
  • HiMass Hardtail Bridge: Fixed bridge provides a stable string anchor for setup consistency.

Design & Installation

The Spectra SBX IV combines a nyatoh offset body with a graphite-reinforced through-body maple neck and a bound laurel fingerboard. It has a gloss black body finish, gloss color-matched neck finish, black hardware, white neck binding, and white dot inlays. The 2x2 black headstock carries a subtle Jackson "J" logo. There is no pickguard.

This is an electric bass guitar rather than a vehicle-audio component, so it does not use DIN mounting or vehicle wiring. For use, connect the bass output to a bass amplifier, DI box, pedalboard, or audio interface with a standard instrument cable. The active EQ is engaged or bypassed with the push/pull volume control; passive mode remains available if the active circuit cannot be used. A proper setup can be tailored through the bridge, truss rod, and string selection.
