The Gretsch G2622 Streamliner Center Block Double-Cut is a right-handed semi-hollow electric guitar finished in Fireburst. Its double-cutaway body gives players access to the upper frets while retaining the resonance and visual character associated with a larger arched-body design. It is suited to guitarists who want an electric guitar that can cover clean, driven, and more focused amplified tones.

A laminated maple body with an arched top and back works with the chambered center block to provide a balanced platform for amplified playing. The center-block construction is designed to add attack and sustain while helping manage feedback compared with a fully hollow guitar. This makes the G2622 a practical choice for rehearsal rooms, stage rigs, and home amplifier setups.

Two Broad'Tron BT-3S humbucking pickups provide the guitar's amplified voice. Their design uses Alnico 5 and Alnico 2 magnets, with an emphasis on pronounced mids, controlled low end, and clear highs. A three-position toggle selects bridge, combined, or neck pickup operation.

The control layout includes separate neck and bridge pickup volumes, plus master tone and master volume controls. The master-volume control includes a push/pull coil-split function, allowing the player to access lower-output single-coil-style pickup settings. This offers useful tonal adjustment without changing the guitar's hardware configuration.

The G2622 is built around a set nato neck with a Soft C profile, 24.75-inch scale length, and 12-inch-radius laurel fingerboard. Its 22 medium-jumbo frets, bone nut, Adjusto-Matic bridge, and V-Stoptail create a straightforward platform for players moving between practice, recording, and amplified performance. Pair it with a guitar amplifier, instrument cable, and optional protective case or gig bag to complete a working setup.

Key Features

  • Center-Block Construction: Chambered internal construction supports sustain and helps reduce unwanted feedback.
  • Broad'Tron BT-3S Pickups: Dual humbuckers provide flexible amplified tones with clear definition.
  • Coil-Split Master Volume: Push/pull control expands pickup voicing options from the guitar.
  • Double-Cutaway Body: The body shape improves access to higher fret positions.
  • Set Nato Neck: Soft C neck profile offers a familiar, comfortable playing feel.
  • Adjusto-Matic And V-Stoptail: Fixed bridge and tailpiece support stable string setup and intonation.

Design & Installation

The G2622 uses an arched laminated maple top and back with laminated maple body construction, aged-white binding, and a gloss Fireburst finish. Nickel hardware includes die-cast sealed tuning machines, an Adjusto-Matic bridge, Gretsch V-Stoptail, and radio-style control knobs. The laurel fingerboard has pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays, black side dots, and 22 medium-jumbo frets.

As an electric guitar, the G2622 connects to a compatible guitar amplifier using a standard instrument cable. It ships specified for nickel-plated steel .010-.046 strings, so replacement strings in that gauge range are the direct match for the factory setup. Gretsch lists the G2622T hardshell case and G2162 hollow-body gig bag as optional accessories; a professional setup can be useful after changing string gauge or adjusting playing preferences.
