The RØDE RØDECaster Duo is a compact desktop audio production console designed to centralize recording, streaming, podcast, and music-creation workflows. It combines microphone preamps, mixer controls, audio processing, monitoring, recording, and computer connectivity in one unit. This helps creators reduce the number of separate interfaces, mixers, processors, and routing devices required at the desk.

It is well suited to one- or two-person podcasts, livestreams, remote interviews, voiceover work, and compact music-production setups. Two Neutrik combo inputs accept microphones, instruments, and line-level sources, while the built-in wireless receiver can connect compatible RØDE Series IV transmitters. A TRRS headset connection, Bluetooth audio, dual USB-C interfaces, and balanced monitor outputs provide practical options for hybrid production setups.

Its Revolution Preamps provide up to 76dB of gain with an equivalent input noise rating of -131.5dBV A-weighted. That combination supports a wide range of microphones, including lower-output dynamic broadcast microphones, without requiring an external inline gain booster in many setups. The console also provides two high-power headphone outputs for local monitoring.

Each channel can be shaped with onboard processing, including compressor, noise gate, high-pass filter, de-esser, three-band equalizer, APHEX Aural Exciter, and APHEX Big Bottom processing. The master section includes an APHEX Compellor compressor/leveller for the main mix. Six programmable SMART pads can trigger sounds, MIDI commands, mixer actions, and voice effects such as reverb, echo, pitch, and robot effects.

The RØDECaster Duo can record a stereo mix or multitrack audio directly to compatible microSD media, USB storage, or a connected computer. Its 5.5-inch HD touchscreen, rotary encoder, four physical faders, and configurable routing make it a flexible control center for a desktop studio. It can also serve as an upgrade path for creators who want to add RØDE wireless transmitters, USB microphones, external monitors, or a second computer/mobile device.

Design & Installation

The RØDECaster Duo uses a compact 235mm by 225mm desktop footprint with a 76mm height and a listed weight of 1,131g. Its control layout combines four broadcast-style physical faders, dedicated channel controls, SMART pads, headphone encoders, a rotary encoder, and a 5.5-inch touchscreen with haptic feedback. RØDE does not publish a chassis-material specification, but the console is designed and manufactured in RØDE's Sydney, Australia facilities.

Connect microphones, instruments, or line-level devices to the two rear combo inputs, then connect headphones to the two 1/4-inch headphone outputs or a compatible headset to the 3.5mm TRRS jack. Use the balanced 1/4-inch line outputs for powered monitors, USB-C for computers or compatible mobile devices, and microSD or USB storage for standalone recording. The included power adapter and SC27 USB-C to USB-C cable provide the basic power and computer connection hardware; microphones, headphones, monitor speakers, recording media, and additional cables are sold separately.
