The Roland FP-E50 is an 88-key portable digital piano designed for players who want authentic piano technique alongside broader performance and songwriting tools. It combines weighted keys, onboard speakers, accompaniment, recording, and vocal processing in one instrument. This makes it a practical choice for home practice, lessons, solo performance, and compact creative setups.

Roland’s SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine and PHA-4 Standard hammer-action keyboard provide the core piano experience. The keyboard includes escapement and Ivory Feel key surfaces for a more traditional playing response. With 256-note maximum polyphony, the FP-E50 is equipped to handle layered sounds and sustained passages.

Beyond piano sounds, the ZEN-Core sound engine provides a broad sound selection for arranging and performance. Its 1,018 onboard tones include acoustic and electric pianos, strings, organs, pads, synthesizers, guitars, basses, percussion, and drum sets. Dual and split modes let players combine or divide sounds across the keyboard.

The onboard automatic accompaniment system helps solo musicians create fuller arrangements without adding a separate backing band. It includes 177 preset styles, interactive accompaniment control, and a chord sequencer with preset and user pattern storage. Scene memories make it easier to recall groups of keyboard, accompaniment, and related settings during a performance.

For singers and content creators, the FP-E50 includes a 1/4-inch microphone input with harmony, voice transformer, and vocal designer effects. Bluetooth audio and MIDI connect compatible mobile devices, while USB supports computer audio/MIDI connection and USB flash-drive media functions. Roland Cloud expansion support provides an upgrade path for compatible additional sounds, styles, and wave expansions.

Design & Installation

The FP-E50 uses a portable keyboard-format design with a streamlined control panel, graphic LCD, dedicated level sliders, assignable wheels, and integrated stereo speaker boxes. Its black finish and detachable music rest help it fit naturally into home, studio, classroom, and stage environments. Two 12 cm speakers are powered by a rated 11 W per channel amplifier.

Place the piano on a stable compatible stand, then connect the included AC adapter, power cord, music rest, and included DP-2 damper pedal. Roland lists the KSFE50 dedicated stand and KPD-70 dedicated pedal board as optional accessories; compatible keyboard stands include the KS-11Z, KS-13, and KS-20X. Use the 1/4-inch outputs for external amplification, the USB Computer port for USB MIDI/audio, or either wired headphone jack for private practice.
