The Roland DJ-505 is a two-channel, four-deck DJ controller designed for mixing, scratching, live remixing, and beat creation with Serato DJ Pro. It combines hands-on deck control with a built-in Roland TR drum-machine section, giving DJs a way to add programmed rhythms and samples directly into a performance. Its compact format suits mobile DJ setups, home studios, club performance, and creative production workflows.

Large low-latency jog platters provide responsive control for cueing and scratching, while Deck Select access lets the two physical channels control up to four software decks. Eight performance pads per side support Serato DJ Pro modes including Hot Cue, Roll, Slicer, TR, Pattern, and Sampler. Dedicated effects, channel filter, EQ, trim, fader, and crossfader controls keep core mixing functions within reach.

The DJ-505 stands apart through its integrated TR-S drum section, which includes editable drum kits based on Roland TR-909, TR-808, TR-707, and TR-606 sounds. Roland ACB technology recreates the character of these classic drum machines, with Bass Drum, Snare Drum, Closed Hat, Open Hat, Tom, Rim, Clap, and Ride sounds available for performance. Level, Attack, Decay, and Tune controls allow real-time shaping of TR sounds and Serato samples.

A 16-step sequencer can trigger either the internal TR drum sounds or the Serato Sampler, synchronized with Serato DJ Pro tracks. Features including nudge, step-roll, and instrument or sample mute support pattern-based transitions and live rhythmic edits. MIDI output also enables synchronization with compatible external MIDI devices and instruments.

The integrated mixer can be used with external line-level players or turntables through its switchable line and phono inputs. Balanced XLR master output, balanced booth output, RCA master output, microphone input, and dual headphone connections support practical performance routing. It is also Serato DVS Upgrade Ready for users who want to add compatible DVS control separately.

The DJ-505 uses a compact controller layout with a two-channel mixer section, illuminated jog-wheel outer rings, dedicated performance controls, and brushed aluminum jog-platter top plates. Its physical layout places core DJ controls, TR-S sequencing functions, channel shaping, and output monitoring in a single integrated unit. The controller weighs 3.5 kg excluding its AC adaptor, making it suitable for portable setups while retaining professional connection options.

Connect the DJ-505 directly to a computer with the included USB cable for Serato DJ Pro control, and use the included AC adaptor for power. Connect powered speakers or a PA to the balanced XLR master output, use the balanced booth output for monitor speakers, and connect turntables or media players to the RCA inputs with the channel source switches set appropriately. For turntables, connect the turntable ground wire to the PHONO GROUND terminal; a Serato DVS Expansion Pack is required separately for DVS use.
