Ortofon CC-MK2 DIGITAL SINGLE Concorde MK2 DJ Cartridge

The Ortofon Concorde MK2 Digital is a single DJ phono cartridge designed for timecode-vinyl playback. It is intended for DJs using digital vinyl systems that rely on a clean, consistent control signal from the record. Its Concorde-format body combines the cartridge and stylus into a direct-mount assembly for compatible tonearms.

This cartridge is optimized for timecoded vinyl, where signal stability can affect software decoding performance. Its 10 mV output is designed to provide a strong signal to the connected DJ software system. Ortofon also specifies the Concorde MK2 Digital for conventional vinyl playback.

The Concorde MK2 Digital uses a spherical diamond stylus on an aluminum cantilever. Its specified frequency range is 20 Hz to 18 kHz at -3 dB, with 22 dB channel separation at 1 kHz. The spherical stylus profile and 3 to 5 g tracking-force range suit DJ-oriented handling and playback applications.

For setup, the recommended tracking force is 4 g. The cartridge is rated for 100 µm tracking ability at 315 Hz when used at the recommended tracking force. Its 18.5 g cartridge weight should be considered when balancing the tonearm and setting tracking force.

The Concorde MK2 Digital mounts through a Bayonet/SME-style connection on a compatible tonearm, so no separate headshell wiring or cartridge alignment is required for that mounting format. It is supplied as a single cartridge with its stylus pre-mounted. When replacement is needed, it accepts the Ortofon Stylus CC MKII Digital replacement stylus.

Design & Installation

The Concorde MK2 Digital uses an integrated Concorde-style cartridge body with an aluminum cantilever and spherical diamond stylus. This one-piece format is designed for Bayonet/SME tonearm connections and has a specified cartridge weight of 18.5 g. The stylus is pre-mounted on the single-cartridge assembly.

Mount the cartridge only to a compatible Bayonet/SME tonearm connection, then balance the tonearm and set tracking force within the specified 3 to 5 g range; Ortofon recommends 4 g. No separate cartridge alignment is required with the Concorde direct-mount format. Keep the stylus guard fitted while mounting or removing the cartridge, and clean the stylus carefully from rear to front with a suitable stylus brush.
