The cartridge is specified for 100 µm tracking ability at 315 Hz when set to its recommended tracking force.

The Concorde MKII DJ delivers a 6 mV output at 1 kHz and 5 cm/sec, making it appropriate for phono inputs used in typical DJ mixers and turntable systems. Its 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range and 22 dB channel separation at 1 kHz support clear stereo playback. The recommended 4 g tracking force is tailored to its stated DJ-use performance characteristics.

Ortofon uses an aluminum cantilever with a spherical diamond tip rated at an R 18 µm radius. This configuration emphasizes reliable groove handling for common DJ tasks, including back-cueing and scratch-oriented operation. The cartridge is also designed to maintain low record wear when correctly installed and adjusted.

For a straightforward upgrade, the integrated bayonet/SME mount eliminates the need for cartridge screws, headshell leads, or alignment hardware on compatible tonearms. The integrated design is made for direct handling and installation on compatible DJ tonearms.

Install the cartridge only on a turntable tonearm with a compatible bayonet/SME connection, then set the tracking force within the specified 3 to 5 g range; Ortofon recommends 4 g. Connect the turntable to a phono input with a 47 kOhm load resistance and 200 to 600 pF load capacitance. For a two-deck DJ system, use a second matching cartridge to maintain consistent output and tracking characteristics between turntables.
