This cartridge is voiced around a high 10 mV output, providing a strong phono signal for DJ setups. Its specified frequency range is 20 Hz to 18 kHz, with solid low-frequency reproduction and extended high-frequency response. The design is intended for energetic playback styles where dependable groove contact is important.

A spherical diamond stylus is used for the demands of back-cueing and scratching. The stylus has an R 18 µm tip radius and is fitted to an aluminium cantilever. Ortofon specifies 120 µm tracking ability at 315 Hz when used at the recommended tracking force.

The Concorde MKII Scratch uses an integrated Concorde body with bayonet/SME mounting. This direct-mount format installs onto a compatible tonearm without separate headshell leads or cartridge-alignment hardware.
