Ortofon CC-MK2 CLUB SINGLE Concorde MKII Club Cartridge

The Ortofon Concorde MKII Club Single is a DJ turntable cartridge designed for detailed traditional vinyl playback. It combines an integrated Concorde-style body with a pre-mounted stylus, simplifying installation on compatible tonearms. This single-cartridge package is suited to DJs, vinyl listeners, and users transferring records to digital formats.

The Club model uses a Special Elliptical diamond stylus to trace record grooves with greater contact area than a spherical tip. This profile is designed to retrieve fine musical detail and maintain a clear, articulate presentation. It is intended for normal playback as well as lighter back-cueing and scratching techniques.

An 8 mV output voltage gives the cartridge a strong signal for phono preamps and DJ mixers. The higher output can reduce the amount of gain required from the preamp stage. Ortofon also specifies this design for use in studio, broadcast, club, archival, and sampling applications.

Its aluminum cantilever supports a Special Elliptical stylus with a 13/25 μm tip radius. The cartridge is specified for a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range and 25 dB channel separation at 1 kHz. With a recommended tracking force of 3 g, it is engineered for stable playback within its stated operating range.

The Concorde MKII format mounts directly to turntables equipped with a compatible bayonet-style removable headshell connection, so no separate headshell wiring is needed. It is a practical upgrade for a DJ setup where sound detail and a high-output phono signal matter. When the stylus reaches the end of its service life, the compatible Stylus CC MKII Club replacement is available separately.

Design & Installation

The Concorde MKII Club has an integrated cartridge-and-mount form factor with an 18.5 g cartridge weight. Its aluminum cantilever carries a Special Elliptical diamond stylus, while the MKII design includes a large stylus viewing cutout for clearer needle placement. The finger lift is a separate, replaceable, and interchangeable component.

Install the cartridge by attaching its bayonet connector to a compatible removable-headshell tonearm, then balance the tonearm and set tracking force within the specified 2 to 4 g range; Ortofon recommends 3 g. Use it with a phono input or external phono preamp having the stated 47 kOhm load resistance and 200 to 600 pF load capacitance. Keep the stylus tip clean and replace it with the dedicated Stylus CC MKII Club when needed.
