The PreSonus Quantum HD 8 is a 26 x 30 USB-C audio interface designed for project studios, full-band tracking, and production setups that need extensive analog and digital connectivity. It combines eight microphone/line preamps, dedicated instrument inputs, multiple monitor and line outputs, and digital expansion in a 19-inch-wide desktop or rack-integrated format. It is built for recording vocals, instruments, outboard sources, and larger sessions through one central interface.
Its MAX-HD microphone preamps provide up to 75 dB of digitally controlled analog gain, giving users substantial level range for microphones and direct-recorded sources. The preamps are specified for low noise and accurate signal capture, while 32-bit / 192 kHz conversion supports high-resolution recording workflows. Auto Gain can set input gain for microphone and instrument sources, helping speed up initial recording setup.
Guitarists and bassists can connect to the two front-panel instrument inputs, which were co-developed with Fender engineers. Two dedicated re-amp outputs allow recorded tracks to be sent back to an amplifier or effects chain for further tone shaping and re-recording. This makes the interface useful for both direct tracking and later experimentation with amps, pedals, microphones, and speaker cabinets.
The Quantum HD 8 supports flexible monitoring with main outputs, eight additional balanced line outputs, and two independent headphone outputs. Its front-panel color display, illuminated control encoder, output metering, monitor control, and mute/dim function provide direct hardware control while working. Universal Control and Fender Studio Pro integration add remote access to preamp, phantom-power, routing, and monitoring functions.
For expansion, the Quantum HD 8 includes dual optical ADAT input and output ports, S/PDIF I/O, MIDI I/O, and word-clock I/O. It can operate as a standalone ADAT microphone-preamp expansion device for a compatible interface. A perpetual Fender Studio Pro license is included with hardware registration, making it a complete foundation for computer-based recording and production.

Design & Installation
The Quantum HD 8 has a black 19-inch-wide chassis with a front-panel color display, illuminated multifunction encoder, dedicated monitoring controls, LED output metering, instrument inputs, re-amp outputs, and two headphone outputs. Rear-panel connectivity includes eight combo microphone/line inputs, balanced TRS outputs, optical ADAT ports, USB-C, MIDI/S/PDIF via DB-9 breakout, word clock, and IEC mains power. Its internal universal power supply accepts 100-240 VAC operation at 50 or 60 Hz.
Connect the included IEC cable to AC power and use the supplied USB-C to USB-C cable to connect the interface to a compatible host computer. Connect microphones and line-level gear to the rear combo inputs, studio monitors to the main outputs, and headphones to either front headphone output; use balanced 1/4-inch TRS cables where applicable. Install Universal Control for driver, firmware, routing, and control functions, and use the optical ports when adding compatible ADAT-equipped equipment.
