Shure SRH440A Over-Ear Studio Headphones $109.00
Bundle total: $308.00

The PreSonus QUANTUM-ES2 is a compact 2-input, 2-output USB-C audio interface for recording microphones, instruments, and line-level sources to a computer or compatible mobile device. It provides a focused desktop recording front end for musicians, podcasters, streamers, and creators who need dedicated audio connections beyond a built-in sound card. With 24-bit / 192 kHz conversion, it is designed for detailed capture and playback in home studios and portable production setups.

Two MAX-HD microphone preamps provide up to 75 dB of gain, giving the interface useful range for a variety of microphones. The microphone inputs use balanced XLR/TRS combo connectors and supply switchable +48V phantom power for condenser microphones. A front-panel instrument input is provided for direct connection of passive guitar or bass.

The QUANTUM-ES2 uses custom low-latency drivers and offers 120 dB digital-audio dynamic range. Its mic preamps are digitally controlled in the analog domain, allowing gain and related functions to be adjusted from the hardware or compatible software. Auto Gain can set an input level automatically for supported microphone and instrument recording workflows.

For monitoring, the interface includes two balanced 1/4-inch TRS main outputs plus a dedicated stereo 1/4-inch headphone output. Responsive LED metering gives visual feedback for input and output levels, while the push encoder handles gain and output-volume duties. Loopback audio support helps route computer audio for streaming, content creation, or monitor-mix tasks.

The QUANTUM-ES2 fits naturally between microphones, instruments, powered studio monitors, headphones, and a USB-C host device. It also includes 3.5 mm Type-B MIDI I/O for connecting compatible MIDI equipment. Hardware registration includes a perpetual Fender Studio Pro software license, and Universal Control supports device control and metering on desktop and mobile devices.

Key Features

  • 2x2 USB-C Recording: Provides two inputs and two outputs for compact recording setups.
  • MAX-HD Mic Preamps: Delivers up to 75 dB of microphone gain.
  • Fender-Co-Developed Instrument Input: Supports direct guitar and bass recording.
  • 24-Bit / 192 kHz Conversion: Supports high-resolution recording and playback.
  • Auto Gain Control: Helps set recording levels for microphones and instruments.
  • Fender Studio Pro License: Perpetual software license included with hardware registration.

Design & Installation

The QUANTUM-ES2 uses a compact black desktop-format enclosure with front, top, and rear-panel controls and connections arranged for hands-on recording. An illuminated push encoder and bright LED meters provide direct status and level feedback during use. Its 6.9-inch-wide footprint keeps it practical for a desktop, mobile rig, or small recording workspace.

Place the interface on a stable surface with room for connected cables, then connect the supplied USB-C-to-USB-C cable to a USB-C host port. Connect microphones or line sources to the rear combo inputs, plug a guitar or bass into the front instrument input, and use balanced TRS cables for powered monitors. If the host cannot provide adequate USB-C power, use the auxiliary USB-C power connection with a suitable USB-C power source and cable; the auxiliary cable is not included.
