The Fender Quantum HD 8 is a 26 x 30 USB-C audio interface designed for multi-mic recording, project studios, and full-band production. It provides eight microphone/line preamps, dedicated instrument inputs, monitor outputs, headphone outputs, and digital expansion in a 1U rack-width format. It is intended to serve as the central recording and monitoring connection between microphones, instruments, speakers, headphones, and a compatible computer or mobile device.

Its MAX-HD microphone preamps provide up to 75 dB of gain, helping accommodate a wide variety of microphones, including lower-output dynamic models. The interface uses 32-bit conversion with sample rates up to 192 kHz and a specified converter dynamic range of 124 dB. This combination supports detailed capture, practical headroom, and low-noise recording workflows for vocals, acoustic instruments, drums, and line-level gear.

Two front-panel instrument inputs were developed with Fender engineering input for direct guitar and bass recording. Dedicated re-amp outputs let users send recorded tracks from a DAW to external amps, pedals, or other outboard processing, then record the result back into the session. Auto Gain can set input levels for microphones and instruments, reducing setup time when tracking alone or preparing multiple channels.

The Quantum HD 8 offers flexible monitoring and routing for recording, streaming, and hybrid studio systems. Its DSP monitor mixer, loopback capability, speaker switching, two headphone outputs, and full-color display provide direct access to common tracking and monitoring tasks. Universal Control software provides additional control and metering from compatible desktop and mobile devices.

For expansion, the interface includes dual ADAT optical inputs and outputs, S/PDIF I/O, MIDI I/O, and word-clock I/O. It can operate in standalone ADAT preamp mode for adding microphone inputs to another compatible interface or digital mixer. A perpetual Fender Studio Pro software license is included with hardware registration, providing a recording and production platform for users building a complete studio workflow.

Design & Installation

The Quantum HD 8 uses a black 1U, 19-inch rack-width chassis suited to studio furniture, portable racks, and permanent equipment installations. Its front panel combines instrument and headphone connections with a high-resolution color display and illuminated push encoder. Rear-panel analog, digital, clocking, USB-C, and power connections support organized studio wiring.

Install the interface in a ventilated 1U rack space or place it on a stable studio surface, then connect it directly to a compatible USB-C computer port and AC power. Use balanced 1/4-inch TRS cables for monitors and line equipment, XLR or TRS connections for the eight combo inputs, and the supplied DB-9 breakout cable for MIDI and S/PDIF connections. For expanded input counts, connect compatible ADAT-equipped preamps and set the appropriate clock source in the interface control software.
