The Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig is a multi-channel USB-C audio interface designed to centralize a hardware-based studio, recording rig, or advanced monitoring setup. It provides 16 analog line inputs, dedicated microphone and instrument connectivity, digital expansion, MIDI routing, and multiple analog outputs in a single 1U-capable unit. This makes it suited to producers and musicians who need to keep synthesizers, effects, monitors, and computer-based recording connected at the same time.
Two digitally controlled microphone preamps support microphones, line-level sources, and Hi-Z instruments on the front-panel combo inputs. The interface also provides access to inputs 3 and 4 through a front-panel 3.5 mm stereo input for convenient connection of a portable source. With 24-bit/192 kHz conversion and published low-distortion, wide-dynamic-range specifications, it is intended for detailed recording and monitoring across varied source types.
AudioFuse 16Rig is built for flexible signal flow rather than a fixed, simple desktop-interface layout. Its eight DC-coupled line outputs can serve external processors, alternate monitor paths, reamping tasks, or compatible CV-oriented hardware, while dedicated speaker outputs support primary monitoring. A second speaker pair can be configured using a pair of line outputs for A/B monitor comparison.
For larger systems, dual ADAT input and output ports provide optical digital expansion, while word clock I/O supports synchronization with compatible digital equipment. MIDI connectivity includes one DIN input and two DIN output/thru ports, plus a USB MIDI host connection for compatible class-compliant USB MIDI devices. The integrated USB hub connections help reduce connection clutter around a computer-centered setup.
Two internal low-latency mixers allow the interface to operate without a computer connection for selected routing and mixing applications. Front-panel controls, a color display, and AudioFuse Control Center software provide access to configuration, metering, monitoring, and routing functions. It can sit on a desktop or be installed in a 1U rack, making it a practical hub for studios that may expand over time.
Key Features
- 16 Analog Inputs: Connect numerous line-level instruments and hardware sources simultaneously.
- Two Combo Preamps: Record microphones, instruments, or line-level sources from the front panel.
- DC-Coupled Outputs: Route audio or compatible control-voltage signals to external hardware.
- Dual ADAT I/O: Add digital channels through compatible optical expansion equipment.
- Standalone Mixers: Manage selected mixing and routing tasks without a computer.
- MIDI And Word Clock: Integrate MIDI hardware and synchronize compatible digital devices.
Design & Installation
AudioFuse 16Rig uses a robust metal chassis in a single-space rack form factor, with rack ears that can be rotated for rackmount or tabletop use. Its front panel combines a color display, rotary controls, monitoring controls, combo inputs, headphone connections, and accessible USB MIDI hosting. The rear panel concentrates the high-density analog, digital, synchronization, MIDI, USB, and power connections for organized system wiring.
Connect the supplied external power supply and use the USB-C port to connect the interface to a compatible computer when computer audio operation is needed. Use balanced TRS cabling for line inputs, line outputs, and speaker outputs where appropriate; ADAT optical cables and 75-ohm BNC cables are required for compatible digital expansion and word-clock systems. For standalone operation, configure routing and mixer settings from the front panel or AudioFuse Control Center before disconnecting the computer.
