Shure MVX2UG2 XLR-to-USB-C Digital Audio Interface

The Shure MVX2U Gen 2 is a compact single-channel digital audio interface that connects an XLR microphone to a USB-C computer, tablet, or mobile device. It provides a direct path for recording, streaming, video calls, and content creation without requiring a traditional desktop audio interface. The USB-C-powered design keeps the setup portable and eliminates the need for external batteries or an AC adapter.

Designed for podcasters, streamers, musicians, and mobile creators, the MVX2U Gen 2 works with dynamic and condenser XLR microphones. Its gain range reaches +60 dB, supporting low-output dynamic microphones as well as microphones that require 48V phantom power. A 3.5 mm headphone output provides direct, zero-latency monitoring while recording.

Onboard Shure digital signal processing helps maintain a controlled vocal sound before audio reaches the recording device. Auto Level Mode adjusts microphone gain automatically, while the Real-Time Denoiser reduces unwanted background ambience. Digital Popper Stopper processing is included to help manage vocal plosives.

The interface supports Auto Level and Manual operating modes through compatible Shure MOTIV apps. In Auto Level Mode, users can select Dark, Natural, or Bright tone settings for fast sound shaping. Manual mode adds access to gain, EQ, compression, limiter, mute controls, monitor mix adjustment, and saved presets through compatible software.

With an all-metal housing and a 100 g design, the MVX2U Gen 2 can connect directly to a microphone or be positioned inline with an XLR cable. It is suited to desktop recording rigs, compact streaming stations, and travel-ready mobile recording setups. The included 1 m USB-C-to-USB-C cable provides the primary device connection.

Its compact inline form factor weighs 100 g and includes a tricolor status LED for ready, error, and mute indication. The USB-C-powered design keeps the interface simple for mobile and desktop use.

Connect an XLR microphone directly to the interface or use an XLR cable when more placement flexibility is needed, then connect the included USB-C cable to the recording device. Plug headphones into the 3.5 mm monitor output for direct monitoring. Use Shure MOTIV Mix, MOTIV Audio, or MOTIV Video to configure processing, monitor mix, and compatible device settings.
