The PreSonus Eris 3.5 is a compact pair of powered 3.5-inch media reference monitors designed for close-range listening at a desk, workstation, or small studio. One cabinet contains the amplification and connections, while the second cabinet is powered from it with the included speaker wire. This arrangement provides a practical monitoring solution without requiring a separate stereo amplifier or receiver.

These monitors are well suited to music production, editing, gaming, content creation, and everyday computer audio where clearer stereo presentation is useful. Their 80 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and 2-way active design help present a broad range of program material in a compact footprint. The front-panel volume control, auxiliary input, and headphone output keep everyday controls within easy reach.

Each Eris 3.5 pair uses 50 watts of Class AB amplification, split as 25 watts per speaker. A 3.5-inch woven glass-fiber composite low-frequency driver handles the lower range, while a 1-inch ultra-low-mass silk-dome tweeter reproduces high frequencies. The system is specified for up to 98 dB peak SPL at one meter.

For placement flexibility, the Eris 3.5 includes continuously variable High and Low Acoustic Tuning controls. The high-frequency control adjusts response around 10 kHz, while the low-frequency control adjusts response around 100 Hz, each by up to ±6 dB. These controls can help tailor the speakers for desk placement, room acoustics, and personal listening preferences.

Connection options include balanced 1/4-inch TRS inputs, unbalanced RCA inputs, and a front-panel 1/8-inch stereo line input for compatible line-level sources. A front-panel 1/8-inch headphone output mutes the speakers when headphones are connected. The package includes the essential interconnect and speaker cables needed to begin a basic wired setup.

Design & Installation

The white Eris 3.5 pair uses vinyl-laminated medium-density fiberboard cabinets and a 2-way active monitor design. The active speaker houses the controls, inputs, power connection, and amplifier, while the matching passive speaker receives amplified signal through its bare-wire terminals. Each cabinet measures 5.6 inches wide by 8.3 inches high by 6.5 inches deep.

Place the monitors on a stable desk, shelf, or speaker stands with the tweeters near ear height and the pair aimed toward the listening position. Connect the supplied bare-wire speaker cable from the active speaker to the passive speaker, matching positive and negative terminals, then connect one line-level source by TRS, RCA, or the front 1/8-inch input. The included foam feet can be fitted beneath both cabinets for isolation, and the rear tuning controls can be adjusted after placement.
