The Mackie SHOWBOX is a battery-powered all-in-one live performance rig built for musicians who need portable sound reinforcement without assembling a separate PA, mixer, instrument amp, and effects setup. It combines an 8-inch two-way loudspeaker, six-channel mixer, onboard processing, and a USB-C audio interface in one cabinet. Its included rechargeable battery supports performances where AC power is unavailable or inconvenient.

Designed for singer-songwriters, buskers, small bands, presenters, and compact venues, SHOWBOX accepts microphones, instruments, stereo line sources, Bluetooth audio, and USB-C audio. Its breakaway Mix Control can remain docked in the enclosure or mount to a microphone stand for hands-on adjustment during a performance. This approach keeps core level, tone, effects, looper, tuner, and snapshot controls accessible from the stage.

SHOWBOX uses an 8-inch ferrite woofer and 1-inch titanium high-frequency driver powered by a Class D amplifier section rated at 400 watts peak total. The system is specified for a 55 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range at -3 dB and a maximum peak SPL of 122 dB. A 90-degree horizontal by 60-degree vertical coverage pattern helps provide broad audience coverage from a compact enclosure.

For instrument-focused setups, switchable PA and amp voicing modes help tailor the overall presentation, while indoor and outdoor modes address different performance environments. Each of the four mono channels provides processing options, and the system includes two internal effects engines, an FX loop, feedback elimination, a built-in looper, and a tuner. A 3-band EQ section provides low, mid, and high adjustment for practical tonal shaping.

SHOWBOX can serve as the core of a portable performance system or feed another powered speaker through its balanced XLR mix output. It can record to a microSD card and provides 2x2 USB-C audio for streaming or recording with a compatible computer or mobile device. Bluetooth 5.1 audio streaming supports backing tracks and break music, while the 1/4-inch headphone output provides a personal monitoring connection.

Design & Installation

SHOWBOX uses an asymmetrical polypropylene enclosure with a black textured finish, a perforated metal grille with weather-resistant coating, and a powder-coated black grille finish. A top handle supports transport, while the cabinet's compact 20.9-pound weight is suited to mobile performance use. The breakaway controller stores in the speaker when not in use.

Place SHOWBOX on the floor, use it at its 45-degree monitor angle, or install it on a properly rated speaker pole using the built-in bottom socket. It is not designed for suspension and has no rigging points; do not suspend it by the handle. Connect microphones to channels 1 and 3, instruments to channels 2 and 4, stereo line sources to channels 5/6, then use the balanced XLR mix output when expanding to an additional powered speaker.
