The Mackie CR5-XBT is a powered pair of 5-inch multimedia monitors designed for desktop listening, content creation, and compact music-production setups. It combines an amplified main monitor with a passive companion monitor, providing a straightforward stereo system without requiring a separate external amplifier. Bluetooth streaming and multiple wired inputs make it practical for computers, phones, mixers, and other line-level sources.

These monitors are suited to users who want fuller, more controlled sound than typical compact computer speakers can provide. The 5-inch polypropylene-coated woofers and silk-dome tweeters are designed to cover a broad listening range, while the rear-ported cabinet extends low-frequency output. A 3.0 kHz crossover divides the signal between the woofer and tweeter.

The CR5-XBT uses an 80-watt peak Class D amplifier and is rated for a maximum peak SPL of 105 dB per pair. Its specified frequency response reaches from 51 Hz to 20 kHz at -10 dB, supporting clear nearfield listening with useful bass extension for a desktop-sized monitor pair. The front-panel volume control provides convenient level adjustment and also functions as the power control.

Connectivity is flexible for modern workspaces. The powered monitor accepts balanced or unbalanced 1/4-inch TRS inputs, unbalanced RCA inputs, and a 1/8-inch stereo input. Bluetooth 4.2 supports wireless audio streaming, while the front 1/8-inch headphone output automatically mutes the speakers when headphones are connected.

The system is easy to integrate as a computer-audio upgrade, a compact monitor pair for a content workstation, or playback speakers connected to a mixer or audio interface. A left/right powered-speaker position switch lets the amplified monitor sit on either side of the desk. Design & Installation

The CR5-XBT pair uses rectangular solid-MDF enclosures with a black vinyl wrap and brushed metal front-panel styling. Each monitor uses a custom-tuned rear port tube and adiabatic batting within the cabinet. A white illuminated ring around the front Running Man logo indicates operating status and also serves as the Bluetooth control.

Connect the powered and passive monitors with the included red-and-black speaker wire, matching positive and negative terminals. Feed the powered monitor from one line-level source at a time using 1/4-inch, RCA, or 1/8-inch input connections, then select whether it will sit on the left or right side. Place the included isolation pads beneath the monitors to reduce bass buildup and allow upward or downward tilt adjustment.
