The Jackson JS Series Spectra Bass JS3QV is a right-handed 5-string electric bass designed for players who want extended low range with flexible onboard tone shaping. Its 35-inch scale supports the low B string while the offset Spectra Bass body is shaped for balanced playing comfort. The Alien Burst finish pairs a quilt maple top with black nickel hardware for a distinctive stage-ready appearance.

This bass is suited to bassists moving into five-string playing, players covering varied genres, and musicians who want active and passive operating options in one instrument. Two Jackson medium-output humbucking pickups provide the foundation for its HH pickup configuration. A blend control, coil-split switch, and active 3-band EQ give the player several ways to refine the sound.

The JS3QV uses passive pickups alongside an active 3-band EQ circuit. Its volume control has a push/pull selector that engages or bypasses the active circuit, allowing the bass to continue operating passively when the active circuit is bypassed. A two-way toggle switch splits the pickup coils for additional tonal variation.

Its bolt-on maple neck has graphite reinforcement and a scarf joint, with a satin finish and Jackson Speed Neck contour. The bound laurel fingerboard uses a 12- to 16-inch compound radius, becoming flatter higher on the neck. Twenty-four jumbo frets, white dot inlays, and a 1.75-inch nut width provide a familiar layout for five-string bass playing.

A Jackson HiMass bridge and sealed die-cast tuning machines complete the hardware package. The bass leaves the factory with nickel-plated steel strings in .045-.130 gauges. The JS3QV combines a gloss-finished poplar Spectra Bass body with a quilt maple top, white neck and headstock binding, and black nickel hardware. Its large upper horn is designed to distribute the instrument's weight and reduce neck dive. The maple neck is bolt-on, graphite reinforced, and finished in satin for a smooth playing surface.

As an electric bass, the JS3QV should be connected to compatible bass amplification or an instrument-input recording setup.
