Arturia KeyLab 88 mk3 88-Key MIDI Controller

The Arturia KeyLab 88 mk3 is a full-size universal MIDI controller built for piano-focused players, producers, composers, and performers. Its 88-note fully weighted Fatar TP/110 hammer-action keyboard provides a more piano-oriented playing surface than compact controller keyboards. It is designed to control computer-based instruments, DAWs, and compatible MIDI hardware rather than generate sound on its own.

Velocity and aftertouch support allow playing dynamics and additional expression to be transmitted to compatible software and MIDI instruments. The hammer-action keybed is suited to players who want the range and weighted response of an 88-key layout for piano parts, orchestration, layered arrangements, and stage performance. Pitch and modulation wheels add direct hands-on control for expressive synth and instrument parts.

A 3.5-inch full-color display and eight contextual buttons provide visual feedback while navigating sounds, projects, and assigned controls. Nine touch-sensitive faders, nine touch-sensitive rotary encoders, a clickable encoder, and 12 pressure-sensitive RGB pads put common production controls within reach. Four pad banks expand the pad layout for triggering notes, clips, drums, samples, or assigned MIDI functions.

KeyLab 88 mk3 includes creative performance tools such as a multi-mode arpeggiator, Chord mode with smart voicing, Scale mode, and Hold. These functions can support quick sketching, pattern creation, and performance workflows without requiring every part to be played conventionally. The controller also supports up to six user presets for customized control setups.

For a studio or stage system, the controller connects to a computer through USB-C and can communicate with MIDI-compatible external gear through 5-pin DIN MIDI connections. Arturia provides integration for Analog Lab and supported DAWs, while NKS compatibility and MCU/HUI support broaden software-control options. A laptop plate and music sheet holder are included to help create a more organized keyboard workstation.

The KeyLab 88 mk3 combines high-density plastic construction, ruggedized knobs, and real-wood side panelling in a white finish. Its long 88-key format measures just under 51 inches wide and weighs 34.61 pounds, making it appropriate for a stable keyboard stand, desk, or stage rig. The included laptop plate and sheet music holder attach to support a practical performance or production layout.

Connect the controller to a compatible computer with the included USB-C-to-USB-A cable for bus-powered operation and access to Arturia software, MIDI Control Center, and supported DAWs. Use 5-pin MIDI connections for compatible external MIDI equipment, and connect sustain, modulation, expression, or auxiliary pedals as needed. Plan for a stand or desk with adequate width and depth, and install the included software through Arturia Software Center before configuring a workflow.
