Arturia KeyLab 49 mk3 White MIDI Keyboard Controller

The Arturia KeyLab 49 mk3 White is a 49-key USB MIDI keyboard controller for producing, composing, recording, and performing with software instruments and compatible MIDI hardware. It gives musicians hands-on keyboard, pad, fader, encoder, transport, and display control instead of relying solely on a mouse and computer screen. Its compact 49-note format is suited to desktop studios, mobile production setups, and live keyboard rigs where space matters.

A redesigned semi-weighted, synth-action keybed provides velocity response, release velocity response, and channel aftertouch for more detailed playing dynamics. The keyboard is designed for players who want expressive control over virtual pianos, synths, orchestral instruments, and other MIDI sound sources. Pitch and modulation wheels add direct performance control for bends, vibrato, filter movement, and other assigned parameters.

The KeyLab 49 mk3 combines tactile mixing and sound-shaping controls with a color display for clear feedback while working. Its 12 RGB performance pads can trigger notes, drums, samples, clips, and other MIDI assignments, while nine touch-sensitive encoders and nine faders provide physical access to parameters. The built-in creative tools include Scale mode, Chord mode, Hold, and a multi-mode arpeggiator for building ideas quickly.

Arturia integration supports Analog Lab Pro and Arturia V Collection instruments, allowing compatible sounds, presets, and mapped parameters to be accessed from the controller. Dedicated integration is also available for Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Cubase, FL Studio, Bitwig Studio, and MainStage, with MCU/HUI compatibility for additional DAW workflows. Up to six user presets allow custom MIDI mappings for individual software or hardware setups.

USB-C supplies power and MIDI communication when connected to a computer, while 5-pin DIN MIDI connectivity supports use with external MIDI gear. A configurable pedal input can be assigned for sustain, expression, modulation, or footswitch operation. The included software bundle provides a practical starting point for creating music, while the controller can remain a central hardware interface as a studio or performance system expands.

The white KeyLab 49 mk3 uses high-density plastic construction, ruggedized knobs, and real-wood side panelling. Its control surface includes a 3.5-inch full-color display, smooth faders, touch-sensitive rotary encoders, RGB pads, and a Kensington security slot. The 49-key layout measures 30.98 x 2.83 x 11.02 inches and weighs 13.45 pounds.

For computer-based use, connect the included USB-C to USB-A cable directly to a compatible computer and install the required Arturia software through Arturia Software Center. Connect a compatible pedal to the control input when sustain, expression, modulation, or footswitch control is needed, and use 5-pin MIDI connections for external MIDI instruments. For computer-free MIDI operation, an optional 12V DC, 1A, center-positive power supply is required.
